That wasn't that great of an achievement. He had Danny Manning, Ron Harper, and Mark Jackson, all in their primes.

No big deal, the Knicks are still going to suck. They could possibly sneak into the playoffs, but I doubt that. Their roster is just too shaky, Marbury-Crawford-Q-Sweetney-Frye? That could possibly be the worst roster (BBall IQ wise) in the league. Guys like Marbury, Crawford, and Q just don't get it, kinda like Francis.

The Clippers always seem to have a lot of talent nowadays. But they usually never sniff the playoffs because of inept management. That's the comparison I'm making to the Knicks.

The first yr he led them to the playoffs he didn't have Jackson (he was in NY). Additionally, the team had a losing record until he joined them in the middle of the season.

The Clippers have made the playoffs like 3 times in 30 years. When two appearances were with LB at the helm, I think he desreves some props because their management sucks.

Well their management assembled a decent team for Brown's only full season as coach. I'm just not sure going .500 with those guys is that big of a deal.

Their center position is completely hopeless.

Zeke is a man of quick fixes and this one basically takes the cake. Basically, let Brown coach the Knicks for 2-3 years. Get them into the playoffs. Give the fans more hope and get them off of Zeke's ass. And if they consistently get into the playoffs it'll be okay. Then Zeke and bolt when Brown leaves before the Knicks fans want to burn both at the stake. That GM is a genius!

I agree. LB is the most overrated coach ever.

It would be hilarious if the Knicks actually gave him a 5-year guaranteed contract when everyone knows that Larry's gonna stay for 3 years tops.

Especially for more than 10 million a year. Didn't he get bought by the pistions. So he is getting paid by both teams.

I think he'll make up health problems and just retire. I'm not saying his current health problems are fake, but I think that's what will happen.

Sure, just ask him (while trading him another undersized, undercapable 4).

Starbury seems impossible to trade, but there is the AI thing, making him the 2 with a Snow or similar at the 1.

Crawford to LAC for Jaric or Clevesburg for Snow? Either sounds possible.

I can certainly make that an option in the pool. Are you saying you're in? ;)

Brown can get this team an 8th seed in the playoffs his 1st year. But that's it. It is the East. He's gotta alot better chance right now than Phill Jackson getting to the playoffs.

The problem is that he doesn't build teams, he just takes over when there assembled. Can he build a team? I saw nothing with Darko. It will be years before we know. This is a whole new task that he won't be able to complete in 3 years before bailing. But if he leaves the off better than when he got there, that an accomplishment in itself.

NY just wanted to make a splash. Too bad they did it with the wrong guy. If they had a team of All Stars, sure he'd be perfect for the job.

But, hey, would you turn down 50 million dollars to coach a crappy team? If he really wanted to have a chance to win, he should of went to Cleveland. But my instinct tells me they wouldn't pay him half as much.
