If that's the factor, then Larry Brown IS the next Rockets coach. He and Les are like identical twins...

    Yeah...listen to the press conference.

Some guy says he's been reading on the Internet and other media sources have said that Larry is already a candidate for many other teams.....hint hint....and then....he said........will the contract clause be removed? And then the owner Snider or Snyder said that he will not seek compensation and will allow Larry to do whatever he wants to be happy! No clause!

HOT DAMN is a good reaction to what is happening! Yes indeed...

ok, then, out of Larry and Van Gundy whos more Jewish? maybe that will be the next deciding factor. or if Larrys dog has the same name as Les's dog that could seal the deal. ; )

We're sitting pretty as long as the new coach isn't Kenny "The Jet" Smith.

And JVG denied that he accepted that Cleveland offer.

Wow! Then can have Moochie and Rice too if they just throw in AI.

    Are we swapping teams?

I can't wait to see Larry Brown at the press conference in Houston in the new arena with the new logo (new logo hat on his head) with a smile on his face and with C.D., Les and Rudy on there saying this is a great day to be a Rockets fan! Whoa we would be a hot comodity next yr. with Larry Brown, New arena, New Unis and Logo, New offence and just a new way of Rocket ball it should be a nice B-Ball atmospher next year sort of in the early Rudy and Hakeem/Clyde days, I cant wait I just hope that Francis, Ming and other teammates feel the same excitement that the fans do!!

    This is great!

    Welcome to Houston Larry!

Thanks for your take. I'm interested to hear the 'inside story' on what went down. I've been looking at different threads, but haven't really seen anything to that effect yet. If anyone can reference some threads where this has possibly been talked about, I would appreciate it.

Realistically, only Rudy and Les were at that meeting between the two of them. Any insider who heard what happened would have had to hear from one of those two and that means it was likely spun from the start. Any insider who heard Les' version of the story is probably going to have something vastly different than one who heard Rudy's version. Which means its doubtful that we'll ever know the "truth" of what happened in that meeting.
