his resturants are for the most part horrible atmosphere driven drivel. he is a smart business man though. i am sort of in the same boat of hate as you rock. and me being a cook makes me have a little more hate for him than normal.
He is a great salesman and dealmaker, no doubt about it...but Landry's is one of the worst run businesses out there. They seriously have no idea how much money they make until a year later. Their books are HORRIBLE, they are late on their taxes...financially, this company is going to get hit hard someday.
You are aware that Landry's is a public company, and as such, has their books audited by Ernst & Young, correct?
The pursuit of material non-public information by jorge and his alter ego texxx, Hmong scoutmaster emeritus, is amusing to me.
I worked, many many moons ago, at Jimmy Walkers in Kemah. It was a sad day when Landry's bought the place.
The food at the Aquarium, though receiving mixed reviews, is pretty okay in my opinion. It is very cheesy though, and Joe's is a POS in terms of quality...how the heck do they get repeat customers. The Golden Nugget the only huge downtown casino. It's like the only place that "nice" downtown...where tourists go...so I guess the Landry's cheese factor might fit right in. The Maloofs created a fortune when they bought and sold the "Station" brand Casinso's a mecca for locals. They have turned Palms into a trendy, nice payout, not too big place that attracts out of towners and locals....so it's not luck...the Maloofs were smart.
