Landry was the one we should never have traded.

Yea and Trevor Ariza was such a stud at SG that we could rely on him..... Martin was a good pick up. What we need is to actually get us a star to lead our team right now. I do miss Landry and if we could have traded Ariza to get Kevin Martin straight up I would have been happier. That however didn't happen and it is time to focus now on what we need to do. Trade one of the two in our back court to get us a star.

    Two reasons:
    1) His game is mainly coming from within the offense not as a playmaker. We have not executed the offense well in the 4th quarter, so Martin's strengths as a guy who scores off of screens and curls aren't being utilized.
    2) It's harder to get a foul called in the 4th quarter

Well, he and Scola were pretty much splitting time here. The thing is, when Carl left, Scola's numbers improved with the increased playing time. Carl's stayed pretty static. He rebounded fine when he was here but since becoming a full time starter, he's only getting about 5 or 6 boards a game which is pretty damned low for a starting PF.

I think people forget though, it was mainly at the beginning of the season when landry was putting up monster numbers in the 4th and helping us win games. Right before the trade went down though, he had stopped doing this as teams started to realize his ability to take over and started double teaming. He wasn't as much of a factor later on in the season.

    can't agree more.

and the way I see it, KMart is breaking our chemistry. Not that he's a bad guy, but ever since he joined us, sky started to fall since last year.

I don't really miss Landry that much, because we have Landry 2.0(Patterson) on the bench waiting for his opportunity to shine, just like Landry had to wait for his in his rookie year!!

He is a free agent this year, if the team wants him, I am sure they can get him back.

Like Morey said, great teams don't win close games, they avoid them.

I liked Carl, and I liked the trade. We sold high.

As for Martin, I think this team has many problems more significant than his supposed lack of 'clutch-ness'

exactly, Landry is not better than Luis...
BTW, I don't think having the PF spot overpopulated again would help to fix the mess...

The main problem now is the AWFUL PERIMETER DEFENSE....How can you have 2 guards that are so bad defensively, at make them the same time? This and Battier aging, has plummeted perimeter D....

As I always say, even a tandem of Olajuwon/Rodman at their prime, would suffer a lot with this lack of perimeter Defense...so bringing defensive bigs won't solve the problem, until the perimeter D is improved first...
