Nice weapon to have in your arsenal, but not sure why anyone would want to see too much of this. I remember the last time an athletic young Rockets forward fell in love with the 3 point shot - didn't quite end up on that All-Star trajectory that most were expecting.

Landry should perfect his mid-range jumper first and continue developing his attack off the dribble before worrying about a 3-point shot. If he wants to spend extra time shooting from long range after practice, fine.

To that point, I love Landry's play around the basket. I would hate to see him parked at the three piont line next to Shane. You don't see Powe, Milsap or Maxiel pulling their game away from the paint. Too many players fall in love with the three and their overall game suffers from it.

He made only 1 3pter at the end of the game, he realizes that, and some of you guys are dumb to think he's going to stand at the arc all day.

Kid can make them though, He was shooting them in warm ups at a game I went to last year and was hitting them with decent consistency.

I can believe that but what I am saying is people are assuming he is going to change his whole game cus of that and be a Peja, he knows better than that. Nice addition to his repertoire

The shot kinda reminded me of Luther Head's shot where he jumps forward like 3 feet and releases.

I've seen him shoot before a game. He and Jack Sikma were playing horse. Sikma won but Landry was shooting really well

    We should sign sikma :p

With the way he shoots, there is no way he can be a consistent long range shooter.

He doesn't really have post moves though, he's just not strong enough to pull it off. Any post move he'd do would be based on speed an athleticism.

Having a guy that can play the 4 and shoot with range is a good thing. The closest thing we have to that is Artest. I don't know if you've seen Landry play and score... but he's scoring more and more on jumpers (sometimes contested) than on dunks. I would actually argue its a good thing because we know that if his knee becomes an issue, he has something else to rely on.

Once he gets the repect from his opponent and contest his jumpers, he should do some more fake and drive. I still think that his finishing is the most effective and valuable weapon.

I see your point but like you said shouldn't he be working on post moves instead of 3 pointers? And honestly if his knee was to become an issue he would probably be wearing a suit on the bench. IMO we have plenty of 3pt shooters and one of Landry's strenghts is his play in the paint and offensive rebounding. Don't get me wrong I'm all for Carl expanding his game but this teams needs offensive and defensive rebounding (like finishing defensive possesions!!) and him moving away from the paint just doesn't make sense to me.
