I like Andre. He seems intelligent enough. Marc on the other hand. He talks too damn much about nothing. I don't know why they had to do the Texans PBP. They should have picked up Craig Roberts, but I think he's on 97.5? or some news talk radio. They couldn't just pick up some sports caster? Russ Small sucks.
It's their only saving grace so far. But seriously though, the whole Laura Reynolds and Matt Jackson idea is very promising. Matt is a flirt and Laura knows how to handle him; they both have 'spicy' personalities...that would be one experiment I would try. Then, you just move Marc back with Rich and you have two local shows and Rome to keep your station at least competitive moving forward. That or the whole Craig Roberts thing might just work But if you stick with this Andre and MV experiment, then you better get that parachute ready, Chance!
Hopefully 610 will stop putting John McClain on all the time. You guys complained about Matt's voice, but he sounds like James Earl Jones compared to "i gargle whiskey and cement" McClain. Now that guy is unlistenable. And, for like the 2nd time in the history of the universe, Meowgi was dead on right about something with his summary of the Walton & Johnson show. Hard to believe those guys still have jobs. But then, "John Boy & Billy" still have jobs, and they're even worse! I don't why you guys bag on Rich Lord so much though. I might disagree with a lot of his opinions, but he definitely seems knowledgeable about sports, and has a good radio voice for sure. I can't really comment much on the night guys, I live in College Station, so the signal is too weak for me to hear at night, and I only listen to sports talk in the car.
Today really was terrible...I do like Richard Justice at times so it held my interest. But MV and 'dre are just so damn corporate sounding. I think 610 made a HUGE mistake by not showing John and Lance the money. This is probably one of the biggest disappointments I can remember having as far as losing a radio or TV personality. I listened to those guys for 10 years. They can't be replaced. Oh well...times are a chang'n I guess. DOUBLE RODS!!
I actually heard about 5-10 minutes of the morning show today. What was Wexler doing on with Marc and Dre? He actually kind of made the discussions interesting. Is this a permanent thing?
I like Country Legends too, but how long have you been listening? Because after a few days, you'll start to hear the same songs over and over again. Are you a Texas native? Get a rope!
Who else is ready to start a KGSR (Austin) type of radio station here in Houston with me? It's been a dream of mine. I really believe H-town is ready and way overdue for an FM station like this. And just think what it could do for the local music scene! WHO'S WITH ME??? LET'S GO!!!!! AAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!
I'm listening now and he's 10 times better with Andre Ware than MVD is, and I don't consider Wexler a morning show type of guy.
They said he's there because Vandermeer is the MC at some even they are broadcasting from. It was either that or have Ware do the show by himself. I listened from 7:15 to 8. They didn't take one call and it was a complete :45 minutes of football talk. They're talking about the Jags interested in Culpepper. All this when the Rockets are pulling off a trade and the Astros had a player shove another player in the dugout last night.
I listened at around 8 a.m. and it was Wexler (whom I like) and Ware talking about the Finals and the Rockets. Needless to say, it wasn't bad at all.
It's amazing what a guy (Wexler), with great overall knowledge and passion for sports, can do for a rookie. Chance, you need to look at shaking things up again.
During the golf show, they were getting all hardcore with it and I couldn't take it. So I hit 790's site and listened to their stream. I would rather listen to Rosanne sing showtunes than that crap they call a radio show. They were talking about "guy" movies, yet didn't know who starred in half of them and couldn't thing of more than 3 or 4 on their own. This went on for atleast 3 segments and then the plugged....wait for it....a POLL about the subject. I just turned it off and actually worked instead of listening to sportstalk in the morning.
i have Sirius Pure Jazz Channel 72 streaming but nothing..i mean nothing..i worse than Lopez on the mid-day show on 790. seriously. just awful. that guy's grasp of baseball is just horrible. i sure hope he knows more about football and basketball. i get the impression his co-host is like, "what???" every time the guy says something.
As a long time listener to talk radio, I've noticed the crutch of every talk show is "What's your favorite _____________?" Those things generate a ton of calls. I think it's weak radio, but it works if the intent is to get calls.

Wexler is SOOOOOO much better than MV. MV is just a play by play guy...he's not a host of a 4hr show. He thinks he's this cool cat that plays the guitar and all. He acts like he's some kinda hippie dude. The guys is a square nerd. He actually called Trailor Wheel and Frames equipment "Stuff" this morning. NO MARK...IT'S CRAP!!!!!!! BTW - Wexler made 'Dre so much better.....man 610 is really weak right now.
