yeah, it was pretty god awful. Just not enough personality, plus when mark is nervous, he goes into that damn radio personality shtick and dominates the talk. Horrible, just horrible. with that said, I do have hope for Andre.
I can say I want the Texans right now. I love football. Football rocks. If they could show practices on TV, I would watch it. That is the only thing to look forward to right now in the sports landscape.
I am glad I will have something to listen to in the afternoons now. I couldn't stand Marc and Rich before, but Pallilo really wasn't all that entertaining by himself. I love Matt Jackson, so I will be tuning in every afternoon on the way home. I am out of my car and at work before the morning show comes on every day, so that really won't effect me.
I listened to 10 minutes. Not great, but not bad. I will agree that MV has a tendency to dominate conversation at times, but I think Andre will get mor ein the flow as time goes on. John and Lance just seem more familiar right now, so ANYTHING that's not them doesn't seem "right".... but it won't take me long to get past that, because there was something about their schtick I found awfully annoying, too.
not horrible. Nothing to keep me from flipping around though. The worst was when that Mouton guy called in and found it hilarious that he picked off Andre in practice.
One thing for sure is that it will be all-football-all-the-time. At least with Andre, he knows Houston. I actually liked him on the show this morning. He had good insight and was very honest. I've always liked Lance both as a person and an on-air personality and his show with John, at times, was hilarious, but I MUCH preferred him and Matt on there together. I have high hopes for Matt and Rich.
Agreed. I think what we're finding is the consensus that basically everybody likes Matt. BTW, am I the only one who is finding hte 610 online stream to be buffering a lot more lately? I know it could be my connection, but everything else seems to be working fine...
i like marc and andre i thought they did ok, but they just need more of a punch because neither of them are particularly 'exciting' of funny. They are both nice guys and good broadcasters but they really need someone to add some energy and humor.
hes coming to The Woodlands next month going to buy my tickets this weekend he also shows at a saloon near Plantersville once a year
And what's funny is that this has been brought on, partly, because of his pairing with Adam Wexler. I remember before those two teamed up, I found MJax's schtick a bit tired and it always sounded like he was trying to be a young Jim Rome. As I recall from opinions voiced on the BBS, many people agreed with me. Now he seems to have really matured and found his own voice.
that was my initial reaction. it's a HUGE change from lance and john...or even lance and matt...in that regard.
I agree. Matt and Jeremy in the evening were AWFUL together. Since then, Matt has really improved. Moving him to the afternoon really has me bummed out on 610 because I never listen from 2-6. Missed most of MVD and Andre this morning because I caught a plane but I'll give them a try tomorrow. What little I heard wasn't anything special.
Pretty bad morning show, as expected, although I did go in with an open mind. As for Matt and Rich, I was pleasantly surprised. Certainly a LOT better than Marc and Rich.
I think Matt will bring an edge to the afternoon show, something Mark doesn't have. I look for a good back and forth rapport between the two.
matt and jeremy was awesome, i loved that show. matt's basically been good since he started and it showed this afternoon when he instantly made the drive time a whole lot better. i still prefer charlie to everyone else but atleast i can flip to 610 if charlie's talking about something i don't have too much interest in.
The problem with Van and Andre is they are not funny guys. Granato and Lance were pretty darn funny. It was sports with humor thrown in. I loved when Lance would go off and start yelling and changing up his voice. I'm afraid that since Andre and Van are the "voice of the Texans broadcast," they will always keep it strickly professional. They probably can't afford to act nutty. I like a little goofiness in the mornings. Oh well.
They sure aren't taking many calls. I don't know if that means they aren't getting any or they just like to talk a lot.
