Against Chicago that would not be ideal. But truthfully, I just want to see at least 50 pitches and being able to make another start 6-7 days later. After getting the first one out of the way, I will look for results moving forward.
Can we just prop him up at the mound for 9 innings "Weekend at Bernie's style" and then trade him off as fixed?
I disagree with the sentiment given my respect for Lance, but I literally laughed out loud at the image. I’m not sure whether “like” appropriately reflects that mixed emotion.
I'm thinking he is going to pitch 4-5 innings depending on pitch count, and he gives up 2 runs. It is the white sox so he might pitch a no hitter. LOL
They've already done that. I think last year with Pena and Altuve. Glad Lance is finally back and earning some of that contract. I laughed when they announced the other day that he'd hit his 10 years of service. I feel for the guy but it's crazy that he hasn't played in nearly 3 years. I think he'll have a good outing and go a solid 5 innings. I'll be curious to see if he's taken all of this time off to learn to be more efficient.
Efficiency is relative. Pitchers averaged nearly 6 innings per start when LMJ came up. Pitchers average just over 5 innings per start now. LMJ has been a 5 and half inning guy most of his career such that if he pitches, he's now an efficient worker.
It isn't sick. It is a workplace injury likely caused by his employer wanting him to give max effort when his arm can't take max effort.
