We don't know if a rebuilding team would value Tucker's possible higher ceiling vs. Bregman's current present.

The Astros certainly value Bregman's present... you also have no clue how Yuli will perform at 3B consistently, and again Bregman can play SS or 2B as well if needed.

I am not advocating pushing one over the other. But a willingness to deal either might yield more trade partners.

It seems pretty obvious to me that this is their plan right now. There is no way there are this many "minor injuries". I think they are making good use out of the 10 day DL a la Popovich/Kerr. To clarify, this may be injuries but ones the players can normally play through in a normal season but this isn't a normal season where a game in June really doesn't matter much at this point. Not saying we have won anything yet but we are playing the odds and trying to rest as many players as possible while also seeing what we have in future arms, if anything.

So basically the entire OD starting rotation, going into spring, is on the DL. The bullpen is burned. Mike Fiers of all people has been a revelation recently, who'da thunk it?

The draft is important and everything but Luhnow may want to concentrate on getting some help, pronto.

Brad Peacock will start tomorrow on 3 days rest. He went 3 innings, throwing 76 pitches in a loss to the Angels Friday.

A.J. Hinch said the Astros are hopeful Lance McCullers will need only the 10 days on the DL. He's eligible to return a week from today.

Francis Martes will indeed make his first MLB start on Wednesday vs. the Rangers, A.J. Hinch said.

McCullers reported lower back soreness yesterday, was evaluated & seen by the doctors. Team knew he'd miss a start, decided on DL.

Martes was the Astros' only healthy starting option left on the 40-man. Devenski wasn't considered an option to start, Hinch said.

Starting rotation for Astros at least one time through: Musgrove, Peacock, Martes, Fiers, Paulino.

Astros aren't exactly in a position of being able to pick and choose but I'd wish something could happen to push Peacock back into the pen and be a long reliever, he seems to thrive in that position. With our carousel of starting pitchers, people like Peacock and Devo out of the pen are invaluable, more valuable than Peacock starting I'd argue.

I think they're using the 10 day DL to rest players. There's no one way the entire rotation goes down with injuries.

McHugh was the only one in our rotation without a history of injuries, and we know his is legit.

While unfortunate and unlucky, Keuchel, McCullers, and Morton going down for extended periods of time should not be surprising.

Those rotations caught a lot of hell, but they really aren't that bad in hindsight. Obviously 2012 on had Keuchel, and McHugh is a legit MoR guy. Happ went on to become a really solid MoR pitcher if not more. Norris has had a long career and would have been fine if he'd been counted on as a #5 instead of the top of the rotation. Same can probably be said for Wandy, Harrell, Lyles, Feldman, Cosart, and Myers. Out of ALL those names, Oberholtzer is the only real scrub.

Those teams just lacked real ToR guys.

i'll never forget that astros cardinals game 6 that sent us into the world series.

one of the best pitching performances that i've ever seen. really brought the city back to life after that pujols homerun the game before

I have heard from a really good source that Keith Jones is the Astros new trainer.

Announce a minor injury and hit them with a bang out 5 months to a year.

Oh boy, this is like spring training in June.

I also think we are trying to see the quality or lack of it of our recent call-ups in case they can be included in the trade for an SP.
