Makes him saying he wants to stay in Portland sound even more sincere. Not the type of move you would expect from someone who plans on bolting.

Why not? Players make career threatening decisions all the time. Like the decision to trust Portland's medical staff at all.

This is just a non-shooting hand. Roy did this with his knee which seems really foolish now.

He may get away with it, but with all that contact in the post it's hard to believe that someone won't bump or hit that hand...and it is his thumb. The most useful digit when grasping things so I don't know...I imagine a lot of situations where he puts that area at risk of constantly being hit and bumped.

I think it's a huge risk. But looking at Portland's upcoming schedule, I think I know why he's putting it off. Let's assume worst case scenario and say he missed the next 8 weeks(roughly 25 games). It's not crazy to think that the Blazers could lose 15 of those games between now and March 21 when they finish a 5-game road trip at Memphis.

That would leave Portland near the bottom of the Western Conference playoff standings. And depending on what Phoenix and OKC do between now and late March, they could even be on the outside looking in. As crazy as it sounds, Aldridge may feel that he has to play in order to prevent a freefall.

scouting report... slap LMA hands hard every time he has possession and is going for the shot.

Exactly, especially in the playoffs. He needs to hurry up and get the surgery over with. My guess is he'll change his mind with 3 games.

Aldridge is back. He's scored 18pt today, so far.

    Lock this thread up.

I now have a lot more respect for Aldridge. This guy really wants to win.

he was losing in his fantasy league, so he had to fake them out with an injury so he could sucker someone to trade Jeremy Lin for himself, now that Kobe's out.
