They both have great Centers and Asik is the main piece we're giving up. Needs to be a team going for a playoff run that needs a Center. Sadly, nothing comes to mind.

Chandler has a shot if Melo decides to quit on international play like Lebron. Wiggins will play for Canada, that's for sure. It would be a great opportunity for Chandler to up his level of play in really stacked teams.

NO.NO.NO. No third max contract for the Rockets. If you have 3 stars one will always be marginalized. See Bosh in Miami, Gino in SA and Harden in OK. And the poster boys the LAL last season. 1.6 shots per minute. NBA average. Stars require 0.4 - 0.6 shots per minute. One and only one basketball on the court. You do the math. Oh wait, it is only arithmetic.

Apart from the Lakers, haven't those teams been pretty successful in their approach?

So the 3 teams that have played in the last 2 nba finals?

Can I sign up for that failure?

Parsons' contract and strong team leadership? No way. 48% FG and 38% from 3. Love LMA, but Portland would have to be content with a 1st and maybe a couple future 2nd round picks. Find your own Parsons.

Besides, we already gave them Thomas Robinson for a few tickets on their light rail system.

Portland would not ask for Parsons. They have Batum who is a slightly more athletic version, but not quite the all-around guy Parsons is. The only way I'd give up Parsons is if Batum is coming with LMA. Pointless addition for the Blazers if they are keeping Batum. They are already paying him $10 million per and would have to resign Parsons. They wont pay $17-20 million for the SF position alone, especially with what Lillard will be getting paid in a few years.

How many years did we gather assets before getting it right? They could immediately flip Parsons and Thomas Robinson for a high draft pick(s). Portland could be a team that could tank for a shot at Wiggins. Portland isn't exactly a top free agent destination.

IMO you are correct about a third star shooter/scorer. However, the third star could be a defensive monster who is not necessarily an offensive machine.

Oh wait, we already have Asik.:)

Going forward with your concept I guess you need someone like Asik and add another offensive monster.

Together Asik and that offensive dude (LMA, Prime Kevin Martin, Monta) would be your 3rd star

If Miami's 3rd star had been someone else except LBJ, do you think Miami would have won 2 rings?

I'm so sick of people using Miami as the "big 3" model when LBJ had to average 20 pts, 8 rebs and 5 assists just to win a ring. What kind of big 3 requires that kind of statistical production just to succeed?

That's a cheap shot on Parson who played a huge part in getting Dwight to Housyon just to trade him.

Yep, plus DH will only be here for 2 years, if we trade the guy who played a major role in convincing him do you think he'll stay and resign for another 5? Most probably he goes to Portland and signs there instead. Lillard and Parsons make for a good supporting cast.

LMA is more of a Pick and Pop option and he's pretty good at it. That's basically what Bosh does in Miami a lot. In an isolation situation, he can get his own shot, that's a fact. If that's horrid to you, then so be it. His mid-range jumper is only good when he's set? What about all the post moves where he backs his defender down and then hits them with a turnaround shot from mid-range? He doesn't take very many 3's, that doesn't mean he can't shoot them. His defense isn't lacking according to this. http://www.blazersedge.com/2013/3/4...arcus-aldridge-among-nbas-best-post-defenders

So in conclusion... your post couldn't be further from the truth.

Probably would have to do that but should try to avoid it. We would suddenly be rather devoid at the 3 as well.
