Matt Barnes is a journeyman because no one really likes him and his skillset is about the same with other comparable wing players that GMs would rather give a job to because they aren't complete douches.

That said, Fisher and Barnes are 2 d-bags that deserve each other and I was hoping they mixed it up more, but just like Barkley likes to say, those 2 guys are more lovers then fighters.

Does Fisher just try to act like he's ready to get it on with anyone? Im not a big fan of Barnes, but I could care less if he would have knocked Fisher's teeth out.

And Kobe is many things. He's clutch, he's cold, he's determined, he's a douche; but tough is not something anyone associates with him. Being punked by players through out his career, and throwing more cheap shots than a moonshiner, does not constitue as being tough.

Agreed. Not only that but between GS, Phoenix and now Orlando he's spent the better part of his career playing in a shooter-friendly environment. He's very much replaceable, IMO.

My estimate: about 80% of all players.

Yeah Artest may be outrageously eccentric, but he's not as stupid as some people think.

That wasn't a cheap shot at all. Barnes set a screen and Fisher tried to flop. He got upset when he didn't get the call and shoved Barnes.

Now the Fisher screen on the previous play was a cheap shot. Similar to his cheap shot on Scola last year, but not quite as bad.

He probably knew it was coming. If Barnes was gonna do anything it wouldn't have been on a set inbound play. Worst case scenario Kobe knows Artest's got his back.

i wouldn't call it ballsy but more of kobe knew he wasn't going to do anything. kobe knows matt barnes is not dumb enough to throw a ball in his face and get suspended and fined over something as dumb as that so of course he's not gonna flinch.

There's a video of Tmac being interviewed (somewhere but can't find it right now) after the game about what happen and he said something like... Barnes did the smart thing and didn't push me.

So you're really gonna believe that Morey is OVER-VALUING Battier's worth on this team because he's simply not dumping him for free? Some of you have absolutely no idea how to run an NBA team whatsoever.

Barnes Fires Back at Kobe, Odom

ORLANDO -- The Lakers are long gone, but Matt Barnes and the Orlando Magic gave them one more parting shot Monday, just in case they happen to meet again in an NBA Finals rematch.

"They aren't going to come in here and punk us,'' Barnes said after practice Monday, still steaming over some of the perceived arrogance the Lakers showed in defeat Sunday.

Barnes said Monday that Kobe Bryant and the Lakers -- defending NBA champs -- are getting an unfair advantage from the officials, based on their reputation.

Bryant and Barnes mixed it up several times, both verbally and physically, in the second half of the Magic's victory Sunday. They received double technical fouls at the start of the third period when they first clashed.

"If (Bryant's) going to throw elbows, I'm not just going to let him do it.''
-- Matt Barnes "I have no problem playing physical, but throughout the game, he (Bryant) elbowed me three times. If I did that, I would have been kicked out,'' Barnes said. "(Pau) Gasol takes a swing at Dwight (Howard). If we do that kind of stuff, we get kicked out, suspended. He (Bryant) is the best player. He gets to do whatever he wants. It is what it is.''

Barnes made it clear Monday that he considers Bryant the "best player in the world.'' Yet he also said he never would concede anything to him on the court.

"If he's going to throw elbows, I'm not just going to let him do it,'' Barnes said. "Kobe is a killer. He has that killer instinct. If you let him mentally get to you, you don't have a chance.''

Bryant Sunday had 34 points, yet he missed the potential game-tying jump shot from 20 feet just before time expired. It was Lamar Odom, though, with eight points and six rebounds who was poking fun at Barnes after the game. He compared Barnes and his physical style of play to former professional wrestler Ric Flair.

"I'm not going to sit here and get into a name-calling battle with someone. The Lakers are where we want to go,'' Barnes said. "If that's what you do when you get to top, that's what you do, talk crap. It doesn't matter to me. We're going to be there at the end."
