Lamar Odom calls Matt Barnes a Monkey and adds: He picked the right game to act tough

Imo shane would be an NBA journey man, if Morey didn't over value his constant professionalism over him as a basketball player.

 

Kobe got away with just as much as Barnes did in that game...if not more for just being who he is. Kobe threw an elbow at Barnes(who don't get me wrong, I don't like at all) and there was no call. Odom is dumb, calling out other guys and he's all over the E network crying on that Kim Kardashian show.

 

Barnes is a punk, a-hole, douchebag for sure. I still remember that incident when we played the Suns and that a-hole was on the team. He tried messing with Rafer but he had none of it. Still remember what Tmac said about him too. lol

I hate the Lakers but would've loved to see Kobe punch Barnes in the month and whoop his ass. Someone needs too.

 

Kobe is a tough SOB period. Anybody who says otherwise clearly doesn't know much about him.

Kobe is a little b**** who got his ass whooped by Chris Childs AND Reggie Miller (two known boxing powerhouses) and ratted out teammates to the cops when the slightest pressure over his many affairs was applied. Your "analysis" is facile. Role players, even successful ones, bounce around. They are expendable. They move from team to team. They don't cost lottery picks. They can be acquired through free agency and other minor transactions. That is the norm. The majority of examples clearly demonstrate that. Barnes is a solid role player and has more or less performed his role adequately and is currently doing so as well (especially given his salary over the years).

Look at the numbers for each player and their corresponding salary, and you'll see how much of a better value Barnes is than Battier:

matt barnes is the kind of player every team needs on it... one guy who will stand up to anyone play with fire and intensity no matter who hes up against. most stars in the league are buddy buddy off the court, so you need a role player like barnes to really mix it up against stars, be in their face and do their best to get in their heads.

people say you can't get in kobe's head but theyre wrong. when a guy is physical with kobe he goes into complete one on one mode and does it at the expense of his team. now, you can't get in head as far as just making him miss shots, but making him into a one on five player usually hurts them if isn't hitting at a high percent on that particular night.

props to matt barnes for doing what most NBA defenders are too chicken **** to do...

 

at this point barnes IS a better value than battier... battier hasn't done anything for the ROX this year.

 

If Barnes had any value to GM's he'd be traded more than he's just been let go.

I gotta say I agree with you 100%. Every team needs an "enforcer" a guy who doesnt give a s**t about anyone on the other team during the game. I think Barnes comments on his twitter page about Kobe say a lot about him. Sure, I can see why people dislike him, but on a soft ass team like Orlando, his intensity is much needed.

 

Barnes is a douche, as well as the whole Lakers team. You'd think Artest would be the one getting in on the action, but he's been behaving himself quite well.
