Watch what happens if Monty Wiliiams tries to single cover Kobe all night with Gordon. 6'3 Gordon is going to get blasted if they stick with that game plan. Also, it's not hard to give an entry pass to Howard. Where is Kobe going to be forcing these passes?

Kobe had three turnovers in the first few minutes forcing passes last game. And it actually is hard to give an entry pass to Howard when he's the guy being doubled (which is where the Hornets should send the double off Artest or Clark).

Gordon has always defended Kobe well. He's the same stature as Joe Dumars, who was Jordan's toughest defender.

Then he had no turnovers for the rest of the game against the Thunder and Gordon has not.

The point is you let Kobe shoot. There is a reason why the lakers have a better record when he shoots less.

You are assuming Kobe will settle for long jumpers. If you single cover him and he attacks the basket or posts up the much smaller Gordon they will be forced to double. The hornets don't have anybody that can force him in to taking tough shots.

Gordon had a very efficient game it looks like. This game could've went the other way easily if they would've called Earl Clark for 3 seconds after he was in the paint for like 15 freaking seconds. That took all the momentum out of the Hornets. n

Dwight left the game hurt, again, and the Suns are making a run. It's tied now. I'd love to see LA blow this game.

Told ya this Lakers bump wasn't real until it carried on to the road. Being the first game and also coming against the weakest team, this was easily the most winnable. I'm not saying they they have 6 more losses coming, but it gets harder from here on.

It may not be pretty by the time they get to Miami.

Funny...when it got tough in the closing minutes Kobe said forget this passing stuff.

    What got into Beasley?

Glad they lost so we are still up 4 games.

Like I said, Kobe has no balance to his game. It's either pass all the time or shoot all the time. In the first half he passed it even when singly covered, leading to a bunch of turnovers. And down the stretch, even when doubled, he reverted back to same ol chuckbe and took bad shots. #countonkobe to make bad decisions!
