No, I mean Kobe. His defense has been atrocious for most of the season. Mike D put him on top players and he's been playing better while enganed instead of coasting and being a liability on that side of the ball.
Ya Kobe has really done a great job on D the past few games. He's always had great one-ball defense (like 90+ in 2K great). The problem is that he thinks too much about the offense, and so likes to gamble on D when playing off ball D. I feel like him playing a bigger role on defense facilitates the involvement of everyone on offense as well. 17 years into the league, and he's shutting down the likes of Kyrie and Brandon Jennings. Amazing
The whole Lakers defense has been sht. Kobe's defense has been one of the better ones among the Lakers. He has to guard star perimeter players cause Mike D has finally gotten tired of Nash getting destroyed by opposing guards every night. Kobe ranks 30 in the league at steals per 48, the only other Laker that ranks higher is MWP. Before when Lakers lose Kobe gets blamed for taking too many shots, scoring too many points, not passing the ball; but when he takes the same amount of shots, scores the same amount of points, dishes same amount of assists in a Laker win people starts blaming those losses on Kobe's defense, even tho he's been the only one on that team that played on consistent high level every night with a heart.
Finally Kobe doesn't take as many shots as the rest of the stars combined. But rest assured that he will never allow Dwight to score more than him.
I never understand how its always Kobe gets the credit and everone else is always the dog or butt of the team. Its simply amazing how this happens no matter who it is. This man can never do no wrong.

You can't be serious. I mean I already hated Kobe for the whole rape thing, but messing with Shane cemented him as a player I will always hate. Also Kobe is a horrid defender and has been for the past 8-9 years.
Funny thing about Kobe threads is that there's always the guy that thinks he's better than Michael Jordan and another guy that thinks he's worse than Austin Rivers.
What's amazing about shutting down a career 40% shooter (Jennings)? Shutting down Irving was kinda impressive. Let's see how he does against Wade/LeBron tomorrow, or Gay and Durant next week.
I stopped reading here. Kobe's defense has not been one of the better ones among the Lakers. It's why Howard, Nash and his coach have called him out about it. His defense has been garbage. He's been better this past week though.
