Celtics for sure, if Lakers lose they are gonna lose so much spirit. All their efforts will be lost. Who cares if Boston passes our win streak, we're gonna end it at 26. :D

Boston, because the Lakers are in our Conference and our 22 game win steak is not even the best winning streak.

not only did the celtics have to win the title last year, but they seemingly gave me no moral victories along the way. they hit every buzzer beater, set whatever statistical things they wanted, basically they just crushed me over and over (i almost had to respect their ability to do so after a while). and now, after only 1 other team in 60+ years of the nba has won 22 games in a row, they aren't even going to give me one year to enjoy the specialness of our streak. i can't friggin believe it. right off the bat, their team, which is somehow the most perfectly gelled team in history (starting with game 1 of the regular season last year), is out to a 17 game winning streak and seemingly can't be challenged. if this was just random Team X, the winning streak would end here or 18 or 19, but no, we just got 22 so they will pass it. 19 is a given with their next 2 opponents and no way they lose on christmas day to LA. they'll make it to 25 or 28 or something. and most likely will win 70 and probably 73.

interesting note, i just checked the odds and somehow these guys are only 3:1 to win the title? are you kidding me? the lakers are 3:2! they're 24-2, amazingly mentally tough, and the team they beat in the finals last year has twice the odds as they do. that seems amazing that the money is that far off on the situation. i had to put some money on the celtics.

The more games the Celts win, the better. I hope they win more than 70 games because it will make their playoff defeat to the Cavs that much more of a crushing blow. If they end up winning the championship, we can all tell our children we saw greatness.

They've been challenged. They've had very close wins against Indiana, Atlanta, Milwaukee, and Charlotte. In our streak, the only close games were Golden State (4 points) and Sacramento (1 point). Teams will start putting the hurt on them- they'll win 60+, no doubt, but I predict losses against the Lakers, Atlanta, Orlando, and several Western teams. And I have this feeling Pierce is going to miss time with an injury. Just a gut feeling.

Lakers I hope. I used to be a big time Lakers hater back when Shaq was there(I remember loving it when Detroit beat them after being expected to win 4-0) but lately I have actually begun enjoying watching Lakers. I'm from Australia and was on holidays in the US when the playoffs were on last season and my first NBA game was game 2 WCF and I was cheering big time for them(probably had more to do with it being the Spurs)

It is tough, you have two choices...

    1) Lakers win and improve their record which means less chances for Houston to take #1 seed

2)Celtics win and their winning streak will still be alive.

But hopefully somebody luckily will beat Boston to end their streat at 18, or something like that. If that happens I am all for Boston to win this one.

I don't care about the 22 wins. What I do care about is making the playoffs. The Lakers losing is the only outcome that contributes to that goal, so I will root for the Celtics here.

    I care about 22.
And if it wasn't for that, I would still root for anyone (even Jazzholes) against Celtics.

I don't see any possibility we have not to make the playoff if Fakers win that game against Celts on Xmas.

The outcome is just gonna help Fakers pile up wins before heading into All Star break and it won't change anything. We would prolly end up no.2 or 3,worst no.4 or 5 in the west,no doubt about it.

Oh forgot,I do care about the 22-win streak,at least it's 2nd longest winning streak in NBA history. That's the number I'll remember for a long time.

Wow we are now 3.5 back of 1st. If the Lakers lose to the Celtics and we keep winning we could be 2.5 or maybe 1 game back of first before the all star break. Its NOT impossible to get first place in the west now. Who give a rat's ass if the Cs beat our record, we're only 2nd best in nba history. What matter is who's gonna come out with 1st place in the West when its all said and done.

    great post

and lets face it, the rockets NEED to get the highest seed possible and play the worst team possible in the first round. thats how big the monkey on t-mac/yao's back is right now. i seriously worry about getting another 4/5 matchup against a team that is just as good. we need a to face someone we can DESTROY in the 1st round.

    GO CELTICS
