Try understanding what he was saying instead of ripping him for how it was said. I agree with him. Saying that Bynum coming back is a bad thing is just like saying last year the team was better off without him cause of our defense with Mutumbo. It's absolutely not true. Any time you can get your starting center back, especially one who is young and skilled, is a plus.
My initial post didn't say Bynum coming back was necessarily bad, only that it will be interesting to see how he fits into their lineup now. But I still have to disagree with the comparisons to last year's Rockets team because: 1) We did not have an all-star big man such as Gasol on the roster while Yao was out 2) JVG employed an inside-out halfcourt offense, so obviously most any big man in the league would be an upgrade to Juwan or Deke catching the ball in the post In the Fakers triangle offense Gasol is proving to be the ideal big man right now. You add Bynum to their starting lineup with Gasol/Odumb already inside and the interior defense will surely improve but the ball movement, cutting, and spacing via outside shooting is all going to suffer. Against certain teams this may bode well but against others, no. From what I've seen the past 10-12 games with Gasol in there the Fakers have been able to score at will out of their set triangle offense. I'm not sure that will be the case when Gasol is moved to the 4 and Odumb to the 3.
