You have a point there. But Kobe is getting older and Rondo is pretty young. It would set them up for the future. I do agree big time that there would be a huge hole in the PF spot. The Lakers don't have much depth so I'm guessing they are asking for Brandon Bass along with Rondo? He would be a good fit with that squad.

I highly doubt Kobe ever wins another title, they need to move on from him and Rondo is the starting point. The old core of kobe/gasol is old and they are not going to do anything anymore.

ITA... I wonder if the Lakers would be willing to trade Gasol (18mil) and Matt Barnes (2mil) for Danny Granger (12mil) and David West (10mil). Getting Granger would significantly upgrade their sf position as well as improve their spacing issues. David West while definitely not as good as Gasol offensively or defensively would also improve their floor spacing, allowing Bynum more room to work.

Unless they get Pierce along with Rondo, then it makes them worse. Josh McRoberts would be their starting PF (LOL!).

I wonder if the Lakers would bite off on a Tyreke Evans, Chuck Hayes, Travis Outlaw trade for Pau?

No way in the world. Travis Outlaw is the dumbest player in the NBA. Not joking at all. I know him very well from the Blazers. He makes Stromile Swift seem like a PhD.

Plus, Reke and Kobe wouldn't work. Lakers would get worse with this trade.

Way too oversimplified. Much more to it than that.

I don't really blame them, Rondo has no jumpshot and hasn't just worked on it, he actually seemed to become worse as seasons go by. If he can't hit a shot whatever team he's playing for will get exposed in the playoffs.

No surprise. Major questions by NBA analysts about whether Rondo could function at a high level if he did not have the floor spacing provided by the big three.

I'm surprised they didn't pull this. Lakers realized the value of Gasol when we threw all our assets at him. Funny how bad Gasol was talked about last year and they still didn't trade him for superstar rondo.

Lakers have had horrible spacing problem already. Their 1 and 3 cannot shoot well. And Gasol is average from midrange. Replacing Gasol with Rondo only made it worse in half-court set. CP3 or DWill is fine, Rondo is a bad fit.
