those faker fans are pathetic. They believe Kobe never misses a shot unless fouled. They are just in denial. Go pistons. Totally anniliate Fakers!
yeah i noticed that to.... i get the feeling that he wouldn't mind being traded and let the lakers build around kobe. i think he looked better than i've seen him all season....
IF and when (most likely) Detroit prevails, this team DESERVES to be cheered just as much as the Rockets when they come to Toyota next season. They at least shouldn't be booed. Maybe *hint* someone will make a couple of signs like: Thank you Detroit! We love you! or a picture of Malone (see above) with a caption of either: Mission: Accomplished or RINGLESS!. Please give Detroit as much respect then as we all are now. I'm almost to the point where I love Detroit so much right now that I think the Rockets should automatically forfeit the next 2 season series to them; give them Houston's wins as payment for beating LA! EDIT: Somebody PLEASE post those pics in the Lakers forums!!!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Detroit is showing some mettle out there. Man, I love it. Talk about a deserving act for the title. Detroit has MVPs all around. Great team play. Great team basketball. Great unselfishness. The Lakers have been the antithesis of all things Detroit and they're starting to unravel under the pressure. Shaq talks the tough talk but even he alone can't carry this team. 5 vs. 1? I'll take the 5 anyday. theSAGE
well looking towards game 5 there is some goods and bads to look forward to: good: shaq probably has played the best game of the series, 36pts 20boards, with only a single days rest and the way he played today I cant see how he would be able to duplicate such a performance. This isnt the shaq of the 2000 or 2001 finals who was relatively in shape. pistons played great defense again and probably will play the same style on tuesday. Rip was relatively quiet, he hardly scored in the first 3 qtrs and got most of his points in the 4th (which of course is important) but looking at the score going into the 4th it was tied. the pistons need his offense early to build a small lead ~6-8 points and they can maintain it from there in the second half. Also even as inept as detroit seemingly can be offensively i dont think they will go through such a horrid shooting stretch again like they did in the 2 qtr. Also the palace will probably be loud enough for me to hear from la which is a huge plus for the pistons bad: i think kobe will be much more aggressive in trying to drive to the hoops next game may cause problems. will rasheed be able to step it up again with the pf problems for la? he played well today but still shot 10-23 not the greatest of percentages. his 3 ball has been non-existant in the series and for the most part he has been playing average as well in the series on the offensive end. and of course as many of the lakers fans been complaining of the same refs which have saved them many times in the past may call the game 'fairly' for once in the eyes of a laker fan to send the series back to la where we may see another game 6 mystery all in all i love the pistons chances in game 5, not a fan of them but hell if it means that for one night i become one to stop malone from getting a ring so be it, gonna let my fro grow out from now till tuesday. as for that great pic of malone i am thinking about making a full sized poster of it and giving it to all my laker friends if (and i hope its a when soon) the pistons win the series
the series is over. Shaq has been in this position before, too bad his Shaqfu couldn't overcome it in 95. The pistons have played phenominal, nothing will make me happier than seeing Malone and Payton walk off that court on tuesday night as Detroit celebrates at midcourt. Karl Malone = Antichrist
Agree. Looks like we are one of the few teams (or the only team) in the NBA which can contain Shaq (unless you believe the myth that Shaq has sleepwalked the first round series then suddenly put it all together after that). Hat's off to our big men.
Oh, don't know if it was covered or not in here, but the other day on Best Damn Sports Show they had that joke thing at the end where they would make one liners about people. Well Malone was the insultee and I forget most of them, but the best was something like: 'Hey Karl I'm not so sure you want to compare yourself to a Samurai Warrior because when a Samurai loses he kills himself.' Ahh, here's a link to the video: Things You Wouldn't Say to Karl Malone Mark Jackson is also on the show. Enjoy!
The Pistons showed to all of us that basketball is indeed a team sport. BTW, the Lakers fans at LG.net are hilarious.
Twolves, Kings or Spurs would have much better chance against Pistons. Fakers are too old and slow. they get beat on feet night in night out.
Here's a thread from lakersground.net that is stirring up a lot of debate... "Face it: Detroit is just better!!" http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.php?topic=63591&forum=1&61 A favorite quote...from "Pappy" "I just hated all the talk on how great we were and how we were gonna sweep the pistons. the reality is we were a miracle shot from being swept ourselves!"
great game last night! 3 down, 1 to go! look forward to tuesday's game. i hope the series end there. go pistons! who would have thought that the pistons could win in 5 before this series? wow? i didn't, although i really wished they would and thus make karla ringless and retire. and i told myself that was wishful thinking. i was wrong. and i'm more than happy to admit it. go pistons! finish the fakers off on tuesday and send them packing!
The lakers haven't found anything positive. And I don't think they will. They need to discover something like Detroit did last year when Prince became a man. But the Lakers just don't seem to have anything. Detroit owns them right now. And thank god for that! By the way. Told you Detroit would unveil Darko
wow...i didn't think LA was a lock in this thing. but detroit up 3-1?? i would not have guessed that. detroit is clearly the better TEAM.
