Laker fans are acting as if Jordan Hill is going to carry them to a title.

Lakers are the class in the west. They have top level talent, depth and experience going for them. Sessions is like a middle man's rondo, underrated player but can't hit 3s. I think Gasol and Bynum will murder Perkins and Ibaka if they meet in the playoffs.

Well, what do you expect from a LeBron nuthugger? He overvalues other Lakers players every year only to devalue and bash Kobe.

I think Eyenga and Hill gives them alot more athleticism. They also good veteran play from Barnes and Murphy. Honestly the two mentioned can't be worse than Luke and Kapono...

We'll see, but ever since 08 I've stopped believing the Spurs can amount to anything serious...But that's just me

The West is open. If the Sessions trade pans out well, I really think LA can come out of the West and even win it

Cleveland fans were absolutely elated to dump this guy on the Lakers, while he is a clear upgrade over Fish, I don't think he's good enough to say he's "underrated".

    stuck in 2nd gear?

I figured jopatmc would just bump one of his other two prediction threads: The Lakers are better than last year, or The Lakers or Blazers will come out of the West.

now it's the Lakers or Spurs. make up your mind dude. pick a team for your bold prediction and stick with it.

and yes I still think the Rockets will beat the Wolves for the 8th seed, and that it does matter. I didn't want to bump your GARM thread for that reason alone.

The Lakers needed double OT to beat Memphis without Rudy Gay and Z-Bo

Right after they needed OT to beat the Hornets.

I'm not gonna call them the class of the West quite yet.

Spurs looked pretty good in OKC without Manu tonight. Controlled the game and held off a furious OKC rally.

My mind is made up, Lakers or Spurs. Blazers should be there as well. If Nate would have let them play uptempo, they'd be top 3 right now. Don't be surprised if now that he is gone they make a furious rally and they wind up benching their front line guys to keep from winning games. If they throw out their top guys and let them run, they will make up their deficit and get into the playoffs. But I suspect the new coach is going to work with the FO to put the tank on. McMillan screwed that up way bad.

I'm willing to bet just about anything that nobody is going to beat OKC in the playoffs (in the west).

I would take that bet. Definitely take the field over OKC. THey have enough flaws and only a solid defense.

He probably will, he is highly underrated and he'll most likely become the best power forward in the league, with the dunking power of Shawn Kemp, the passionate rebounding of Dennis Rodman, the blocking strength of Hakeem The Dream, and the intense, in your face attitude of Charles Barkley he'll be the best PF of all time....:rolleyes::rolleyes: Now before anyone attacks me. I'm only joking.

Maybe Jordan Hill will be effective in the city of angels though. My prediction is that he'll be a so-so bench player. He just doesn't seem to have the passion to grab rebounds like he should. That won't sit well with Kobe so I think he'll push him so he might actually be better than he was in Houston.

Send me pics of your girlfriend, house, and cars, and a copy of your lastest 401k/IRA statement, along with all your bank account statements so I can pick and choose what I want.

You'll see soon enough... That is unless the Rockets play them in the first round, then all bets are off, of course.

I mean every team that had a chance against them (or beat them) last year has gotten significantly worse this year, meanwhile THEY themselves have gotten significantly better.

This is just another common case of what-have-you-done-for-me-lately, probably combined with the emo-inspired desire to hate the best and what's getting all the hype. Sure, the Thunder are in a small bit of a slump (which means two hard fought losses against quality teams), but they are still easily the best the west has to offer.

Anything can happen, but in seven games, it would unquestionably be an upset if anyone beat them.

You're not very good at recognizing e-humor, are you, sir? Good copout, though.

We have played them well, of course, but I doubt we'd beat them. Could happen, though. I believe.
