You said a similar thing last year... "The Spurs won't miss those wide open shots like the Kings did..." The Kings are going to miss those wide open shots again...
Typically, things tend to level off over time-- law of averages. It's not likely that you see the Kings again ice cold from the perimeter.
Well you could have said that about the Spurs this year before they went ice cold against the Lakers...again...
This year, the Spurs did shoot a lot better against the Lakers... and that got them a 10-15 point lead in several of the games. The problem is that they couldn't execute in the fourth quarter. If the Kings also improve from the field, I highly doubt you see them cough up huge second half leads the way the Spurs did...
The Spurs shot 40% from the field against the Lakers this playoff year, that's a lot better than last year?
I meant in the first three quarters, sorry if you couldn't tell. My point is that you're assuming a lot to think the Kings will choke away games the way the Spurs did...
too late now, but the playoffs picks could have been kept track here: http://www.ultimateknicks.com/gamepicker/2002playoffs/default.asp
BMG, Rockbox, all I have to say is just wait and see. Instead of historical perspective, you might try looking at the present. Cat, you always seem to have tunnel vision concerning Spurs abd Lakers, but is the rest of the folks with it on this Kings-Lakers matchup--I am with you here. This Kings team isn't the team from last year, it far and away isn't the team from 2 years ago, and this Laker team isn't the same team from last year either. Some times you gotta look a little deeper than what appears obvious. This is going to be a very tough series.
I think I'm going to turn into the King's b**** aka Cat with the Spurs. Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Kings! Game 1 : Lakers 102 Kings 91 Game 2 : Kings 123 Lakers 118 Game 3 : Kings 93 Lakers 92 Game 4 : Lakers 88 Kings 84 Game 5 : Kings 103 Lakers 101 Game 6 : Kings 92 Lakers 91 I think The Lakers can hold down the Offense of the Kings, But Remember, This Kings team has a half court offense now. This isn't Jason Williams blind three pointers. This is Mike Bibby leading a team like a PG should. If Webber chokes, Bibby can step up, We have already seen it more than once in the playoffs. Mike Bibby is for real.
