Do you honestly think kobe is gonna go to bed thinking, "oh no, not mr. intangibles tomorrow!!!!". Yeah I highly doubt that..
really? i thought kobe makes gasol's life easier? shouldn't he draw defenses to set gasol up for open dunks and jumpers if he is not a good 1-on-1 player? really? when gasol gets his 17-18 shots again, they'll start beating teams by 10+.
Not quite, because this was no ordinary teenager. Memphis' Xavier Henry checked the Lakers' superstar for most of Tuesday night with little help, and the result was a 9-of-25 shooting night for Kobe and a 98-96 win for the Memphis Grizzlies. While he wasn't on the floor at the end for L.A.'s deja vu final possession -- for the second season in a row in Memphis, Kobe kicked out to Ron Artest for a 3-pointer that missed at the buzzer -- Henry was the protagonist during a stretch of 11 straight misses by Bryant midway through the game that allowed the Grizzlies to build a double-digit lead. Henry wasn't getting double-team support either; he was one-on-one against Bryant for much of the night and, thanks to his size and discipline, largely held his own. The effort was so good Henry's coach compared him to another player who has been known to limit Bryant. "I remember when we interviewed [Henry] in Chicago," said Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins, "and I went away saying 'That's Shane Battier all over again.' He's poised, he's mature, [and] he understands the big picture of what's going on. That's what you like to see in all your players coming into the league." memphis' coach compares henry's shut down of kobe to shane battier in his prime
In response to those saying we'll get wrecked tomorrow, I recall similar sentiments going around after the season opener loss to the Lakers, except it was about the Rockets destroying the Warriors. We got lit up.
When have he Lakers ever been a team like that? Their post-season play has always matched their regular season play... When they're winning chips, they're also winning (or getting close to winning) divisions and conferences. And when they're not... well, they're not.
Ah, the typical Kobe hate emerges in the NBA Dish. A bit early there guys... you guys usually start in the playoffs...
I bet you didn't watch the game, if you did, you'd know how many points Gasol scored were created by Gasol himself. And it wasn't like he didn't try.
Well, what do you expect from a Lebron asskisser? He's had to defend LeBron in 5 threads every day and there's no better way to start a deflection.
Most times Kobe has already got his eye on the basket and ready to release, so i never understood how a few fingers below eye level can affect a shot?
It's funny... people around here always say Kobe fans are the ones who are arrogant and make threads about hating LeBron... but never the other way around. This thread is a prime example.
hand in the face defense doesn't work in the slightest srsly, anyone who ever played a game of basketball knows that
