Lakers' fans remind me of som of the Rockets fans here. Considering two of the Rockets most hated teams (Dallas and Utah) don't have a ring, you would think Rockets fans would be grateful for having two. The Kings have never even been to the finals. 14 teams have never won an NBA championship. At least the Rockets have winning seasons more than not. They are fun to watch, especially when they get it rolling. They have had some serious bad luck, but even last season when they were without their starting PG and center they took the Jazz to six games
There are tons of lakers fans and kobe wankers on this board but there are also tons of lakers haters and kobe haters like me. Internet is a free world wherever you go there are haters, there are thousands of t-mac haters in the lakers' forum and zillions of yao haters in this world. So if you dont like your beloved lakers get hated here please go and join lakers playground forum, those kiddie posters there will welcome you. But if you wanna know more about our beloved rockets here you are still welcome!
At least with the Rockets trade to get Eddie Griffin (I guess you didn't realize why I bolded the name last time), it made sense at the time. Griffin was considered one of the great talents of the draft. He didn't pan out. In hindsight, it was a horrible trade. The trade for Kwame Brown made no sense even at the time. Why give up a young guy who at worst is going to be a very solid perimeter player for a proven bust? Battier a non-starter? Please at least look at the stats before you speak. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/stats?playerId=976 Battier was a starter in Memphis and has started almost every game he's played as a Rocket. The 22 game winning streak was a big deal. If it wasn't, more than one team would have equaled it in the history of the league. One team wins the championship every single year, whether or not there is a great team in the league that year. But only two teams in the history of the league have had a winning streak that long.
I didn't say that Shaq deserved all of the credit for the Lakers winning championships. I said that Shaq made the Lakers relevant again, which is true. The Lakers were western conference also-rans after Magic retired until the offseason that they brought in Shaq. That immediately made them a contender again, even though it took Kobe several years to develop into a good player and for Phil Jackson to come on board.
