I would argue that you never were a true Rockets fan then. You gotta live and die with your team through thick or thin. Otherwise its just degrees of bandwagonning.

I'm going to tell you the truth-

The only players I like are Yao and Battier. I don't like Tmac, I don't like Howard, I hate Alston, and I can't stand JVG. What am I supposed to do? I've remained a Rockets fan for this long already. Up until this year I haven't missed a single game. My friends were telling me that I used to miss middle school dances just to watch Rockets PRESEASON GAMES! How pathetic of a fan was I back then? I bought League Pass this year just to watch the Rockets....we have a healthy team and are 20 games over 500. Leaving doesn't make me a bandwagon. At least that's not the definition I am accustomed to. So now you do me a favor and tell me what more you know about me that I don't....

Before it used to be I love the Houston Rockets. That was my damn team. Absolutely loved them. Now its just like yeah I'm from Houston, they are a Houston team, I want them to win. But after that I don't care...

I know it's not clear. But the bottom line is: I don't like this Rockets team. But, even after all that, I am still a Houston Rockets fan.

Why not tell that to the guys who traded away my all time favorite player Kelvin Cato. I'm not lying, he used to be my favorite player.

Management is all of a sudden bandwagon? They know they can't win the players they have so they make trades to get better. Why not stick with the players they have and play it out?? It's the same thing, isn't it? Please don't be stupid with me. It's human nature to go after the best. But if I was still in Houston, I would still be a Rockets fan. There's no doubt in my mind about it.

Sounds like a lot of Yankees fans I know these days.

Jumping on to the Mavs wagon....pretty low. But you've got stones posting here about it.

How do you not like Tracy McGrady. The guy is the most versatile player i have ever seen in a rockets uniform. No question.

Yes, and the Mavericks are very likeable, too. It's not like Nowitski or Howard or Stackhouse or Terry or Dampier have done anything to make them unlikeable (Not!). Face it, it's all because the Mavericks are winning and you live there. Who cares, anyway. We have Memphis X and Nuggets4, now we have redefined. Welcome.

Did we really need 5 pages of what essentially boils down to:

    redefined: The Rockets are stinky.
everyone else: No they're not, you're stinky.

Fight for your right to sit!!! What a great stand! *That's* the loser Rockets fan we have all come to know and love!
Unless the Rockets stop being a basketball team and turn into a nachos eating squad, I don't think you'll have to worry about fitting in with the team. Now fitting in with your pants...that's another story... :p

Kobe 4 Prez- The sequence of events is undoubtedly off, but there was so much excitement because of how clutch Kobe was playing, Kwame OWNING Yao in the midst of it, LO hustling like a mad man on the boards, and then in the blink of a eye, we lose the game. It was very deflating, and the crowd was reacting accordingly, it was a tough pill to swallow. So many times we were down and out, then back in, then locking it up, then not so much, so I understand the crowd being in and out, plus it's the Staples crowd.

    Say what?

I think when you said Cato was your favorite player you lost all credibility. Really hard to concentrate on anything else now.

You must have psychic powers or something because from all the games I've seen, these fake-enthusiastic Rockets have never once broken character. I mean, they're all SO dedicated to acting happy when they're actually apathetic about their teammates that I wonder how they have the energy to actually play basketball. I guess that explains why we have sluggish third quarters. One can only grin and get fake-excited for so long before it tires you out.

They will react however their emotion allows them to react unless the officials say sth. Nth wrong with cheering for your teams in every single play. And no, it has nothing to do with immaturity. What a bunch of crap.

You can't like a team with Rafer (and don't like TMac), but you can like a team with Antoine Walker??

    Quoted for emphasis. GREAT post.

Now, can we all stop this pointless and petty argument? It really is stupid. No one's mind is going to change, and frankly, considering the subject matter, who cares?
