This is not a rookie team. What more encouragement do they need. They know where they are and where they need to be. We are a great team...I see no point in it. Lakers were facing our bench when they came back from 10 point deficit with 4 minutes left. Kobe hits that cold blooded 3 fading away towards our bench and drains it to shut them up. I guess the bench failed to help the team on the floor close out the game.
yeah i like how the rockets bench are always cheering sometimes if you get down or lose a bit of confidence in yourself it helps to have your teammates physically show that they still believe in you and are with you 100%. i think actually charles barkley said it best a couple of years ago in the dallas series when tmac dunked on bradley about the rockets bench going nuts and that how he was happy to see that because on the road those are the only guys you can count on no one else. as for turiaf the guy at times annoys me because he will jump up and down and cheer when the refs call a 3 sec violation. but he seems to be the only guy on the lakers team outside of kobe that goes all out. i'd take a whole team of turiaf-like players given the choice over a team that just sits there. redefined--you said that deke may be the only genuine fan---see thats where you got it all wrong. none of the guys on the bench are fans--they are TEAMMATES and thats what teammates are supposed to do. even if vspan isnt happy with his playing team he is up off the bench because thats what a good teammate does regardless of his own circumstances.

It sure does make me happy to see the excitement after the big plays. Hell, if redefined hadn't already clued me in on the fact that it's all fake, I would've thought this team had some awesome chemistry!!
I noticed those comments last night and I see it as further evidence the Lakers squad is not unified. Granted, they have some characters on their team but several of the players don't like the coach or each other. That's why they don't have the same enthusiasm as the Rockets. The background feuds and the public sniping have gone a bit over the edge. I think a lot of the Lakers will be glad when their season ends.
The guys on the Rockets simply like each other and root for each other, which is not neccesarily true for other NBA teams. There is nothing wrong with vets being enthusiastic. Juwan has always been a great lockeroom guy, so has Dikembe. What everyone else did with other teams is irrelevant, it's about how they feel about this current set of people they work with. As for Spanoulis, just because he was moody frustrated earlier doesn't mean he doesn't root for his teammates now. Moods do change over the period of months. Who knows, maybe he's having an affair with TMac and really wants TMac to do well.

I understand where you're coming from. If I was a non-Rocket fan.. like for example a Lakers fan.. well other than the fact that I'd shoot myself, I'd think the Rockets bench is annoying. But if I put myself in a Rockets player's shoes that's on the floor playing, I would love for my teammates on the bench to be on their feat, loud, and supportive. Especially when I'm on a hostile arena. Btw just for the record, if I was a Lakers player on the bench and I see Turiaf dancing for no reason.. I'd probably start laughing and miss all my shots.
No offense but man you sound stupid with this post. How do you know that about Deke being the only genuine fan? Please tell us and enlighten us. These are a group of guys that care for one another like brothers...any true Rockets fan knows that from following the team. When you go into a hostile environment, they only have the bench to cheer them on against 20,000 fans. All good team are like this and it shows good comrandaries.Where have you been, please take your head out of your ass b/c you sound like those grumpy old men that sits on his couch all day and b****es. So you just want them to just sit there and pick there nose or bite their nails all day? Haha!

The Rockets players are used to standing up because someone has to make up for the lack of enthusiasm in the front seats of Toyota Center. So it just comes natural to them. They should let the Rowdies next to the players.
lol why would they get annoyed? i guess they are just jealous that the rockets team chemistry is at a whole other level.. obviously im bias but i truly think of all the professional sports teams in the world, the rocket's chemistry is among the best.
