He was 28 and 29 in the championship runs. He is about to be 32. Common sense, man.

His ts% has dipped from over 60% to 55%. His offensive rebounding has dipped. His playoff averages have went from 20 and 11 to under 13 and 8 the last 2 seasons. Nuff said.

I'm surprised you would think that. There are only 2 players in the NBA that I don't really like and that's Wade and Pierce. Love Kobe.

His numbers have dropped due to Bynum's emergence and more touches for Bynum.

Going from 28 years old to 31 years old is not going to decline someone as much as you are saying. Just admit that Gasol was a really good player when he was with Memphis, he hit his prime with the Lakers, and at 31 years old he's still in his prime. That's a simple fact. All the Gasol praising around here was to discredit Kobe and keep the myth going that "Kobe can't do it without..... insert any random big man's name"

My bad man I totally misjudged you and I apologize. I think I just assumed Lebron Love=Kobe Hate. I also dislike Wade with a passion. I was cheering against the Heat this year mainly because I didn't want to see him win. I use to really like the guy too.

Haha, I hadn't looked at it like that and that just shows that the Lakers front office must of just bought a new batch of bath salts or something.

    Perfect recap.

Revisionists saying Pau trade with Memphis was fair are crazy. It wasn't Pau for Marc plus Zbo. It was Pau in his prime for an untested young center, cap space, and a couple of weak draft picks.

Marc is good now, but it took him 2 years to develop, during which the Grizzlies stunk. Can't ignore that.

He's turning 32 soon. Players are in their prime in between 27-30 and yes big men do fall off much faster than wing players.

He has gotten the same shot attempts and his usage is basically the same. But he ain't in his prime, homie. He stunk it up in the last 2 playoffs and it's not bc of Bynum. If anything, Bynum has taken more attention and double-teams, which should have made his game easier. He's not the same player both mentally and physically. That's why the Lakers are trying to dump him.

So you're saying it's justifiable for the Lakers to get 3-5 years of use out of someone in their prime, and then turn around, and expect to sell him off for an even HIGHER price, when he's clearly begun his descent?? How on Earth does that make sense?? The Lakers need to get over themselves, live in the cap hell that they've created, or take a fair price for the ostrich.

This is a good point. I agree that the Lakers are asking too much, but I also find it very humorous that the same people who said Gasol was some sort of super mega star who brought 2 more championships to Kobe all of the sudden say he completety sucks. These are the same people who said the Lakers were stupid for choosing Kobe over Shaq. And these people make me laugh :p, that's all.

I've never heard anyone on Clutchfans claim that Pau Gasol was a "super mega star."

The rest of the league should just troll their franchise.

You're right, he was traded to Memphis from the Clips. But that proves they really lucked up on Z-Bo, they got him for Q-Rich...

It was and is still is lopsided, I'd take Pau over Marc any day.

The Lakers pretending like anybody in the Top 10 would be willing to give up their draft pick for a win-now regressing player like Gasol is truly comical.

They're better off just keeping him and trying to regain some of the depth and talent they lost when they foolishly dealt Odom.

Bottom line: there are VERY few teams in the league that could feasibly afford to take on Gasol's contract and the afforded second-banana expectations (despite getting paid like "the man").

The Lakers got a 20/10 seven footer for Kwame Brown. Marc was a throw-in: 35 pounds heavier, raw and unproven.

Man, every time I think of that trade I see Pop ranting and raving about what highway robbery it was. If it wasn't because Marc Gasol developed the trade would still be considered a farce.

LA fans are all going to hell, and as a reminder to them while they're on earth god has given them no football team.

I think there are literally 100 things to do in LA that are better alternatives than watching football. Also when you got Lakers winning titles at the pace they have & only missing playoffs 5 times since 1948, this city may not have room for a footbal lteam

Thats the lakers way of thinking. The thing is nobody has to cooperate with them and be dumb as GM if they dont want to.
