Exactly. This thread is filled with a bunch of Tracy Mcgrady's. It's so nice to get out of the 1st round huh?
don't forget the easiest offensive rebound for shaq off of an airball. had it hit rim, we could have secured the rebound and at least another victory... but my point was that Shaq, Kobe, Payton, and Malone were the darlings to win it all that year. they were heavily favored in the Finals against Detroit, and the Pistons came in and wrecked shop with their hard work, defense, and team effort... nobody saw it coming that year. can we be this year's Pistons? A defensive juggernaut with role players that would rather take a charge than take the flashy dunk...
Get as worked up as you like. BUT the lakers will smoke Houston. Unbalanced guard play...they are dominant there. Too many minutes for Yao...no backup. They will wear him down. It will be a short series...prob a sweep. But I have to say I don't care as our Rockets have shown improvement this year over the previous few. Now we are out of the 1st round, regroup this summer, make some upgrades, go for title next season.
I don't think our season-record against the Lakers is a bad sign. A lot of basketball has to do with skill, but some of it is mere chance. If you flip a coin 4 times and it's tails each time (regular season), what's the odds you're going to get another 4 tails (playoffs)? But without jumping the gun, Rockets have a must-win ahead of them tonight.
I actually think the rockets will shock the world (and some so-called rockets fans) in beating the lakers the reason ANDREW BYNUM is back!!!!!!!! Yao kills him on the losw post and during the season we only faced the lakers once with bynum in the line up and got blown out 111-82. That was our 3rd game in 4 nights and the lakers had 4 nights off getting ready for the rockets. Also we still had the trigger happy backcourt of tracy and rafer. So i look at this way Starters: -Yao will murder Bynum bc phil jackson is stubborn and will not double team Yao -Kobe in a 7 game series will have nightmares thinking bout RON & SHANE seriously just think about how brandon roy is feeling right now -Who ever is not guarding Kobe has to stick with Ariza as he has made some key 3s in the pass -Scola plays hard every night and is playing extra hard this postseason everyone said LeMarcus would dominate him and up to this point he has more than held his own (Pao very similar to Aldridge's game 7foot jump shooters) -The key is the POINT AB0 has to neutralize fisher and make him play D Bench: -Lowery>Brown(haha Farmer got demoted) -Wafer's first step will destroy sasha but wafer has to play D do not give sasha open looks -They have an advantage with odom i think landry will have to step up BIG (maybe even bring in the chuck wagon for D) we have to play smart and great D should be a great series I say rockets in 6 if not the lakers in 7 just because game 7 in LA would be really hard to win but we never know
I've been saying that all along. The Rockets match up better with the Lakers if Bynum is on the floor. Pau does a great job of defending Yao (for the most part), and he's just too quick for Yao on the other end. Yao just matches up much better with Bynum. And considering the Lakers like to play Yao one-on-one (with the exception of the occasional weak side double team) we can afford to use Chuck Hayes with Yao a little more for defensive purproses. I'm not saying we'll win the series, but we do have a shot.
Phil hates to double team anyone, but your probably right after Yao will post up 30 and 15 and the rockets steal game 1
As long as David Stern doesn't pull another 2002 Kings-Lakers fix, the Rockets could legitimately upset the Lakers.
You guys are crazy if you think we can beat them.. The smart thing to do is emotionally prepare yourself for the loss, that way you won't be so disappointed when we get crushed.
ugh. the smart thing for you to do is to run and hide like a coward. We stole a game in the place where the Lakers haven't won in 4 years. we have a chance to do it again tonight. you're telling me you don't think we can steal one in Staples Center? and you're a Rockets Fan?
We're being Rockets fans.. supporting our team.. of course we think we can beat them. That's basically like saying what T-Mac said to that radio show.. "Lakers will win it all"
I agree, I think winning in Utah and Portland is much tougher. Staples is only a great home court, because of the team. LA fans at times, seem like they're disinterested in the game, for years. I've never seen so many people on their cell phones and band wagoners marching around. So what if the Lakers win 4- 6 games, I say F ___k them and their crusty c--t fans.
Laker fans for the most part are uninformed, bandwagon fans with no knowledge. Who cares what they think. Its very obvious the Rockets are better than the Blazers. I think we can win in Staples.
