absolutely embarrassing for the lakers to lose with all of those calls and kg out. pathetic. refs did everything they could and they still lost. worst officiated game in history, even passed up game 6 last year against the kings (the 27 ft's in the 4th qaurter if you forgot). horrible. thank you minny.
You know, watching this game, I don't see how any basketball fan that is not a resident of LA can possibly cheer for the Lakers. How can you root for a team that is already handed so much on a silver platter in big playoff games like this? It just sickens me that a single team could get so much preferential treatment. And that alone is reason enough for me to root against them.
Serious props to the TWolves for overcoming that horse crap. That took some serious focus not to get distracted too much.
Justice is served!!! Good lord! That had to be the worst officiating I have ever witnessed. Who would have everthought that a team with Troy Hudson, Marc Jackson, Peeler, Wally S., and Gary Trent would run the Lakers in OT w/ Kobe and Shaq!!! Amazing!
well to be fair kobe and shaq had to play a little tentatively what with having 1 foul each and all. didn't wanna foul out.
LOL. The funniest thing I ever saw was when Kobe complained when he was called for fouling Trent after he had gotten the benefit of a call where he wasn't even touched. Can you imagine Kobe's argument? "Ref, listen, I'm WAY more popular than Trent is..."
I seriously almost puked after that "4-point play" that Kobe had. Worst called game I have EVER seen.
Despite what kidrock8 will say, Kobe has taken over Iverson, Cuttino and Francis as the biggest cry baby ass whiner in the NBA. Is these BASTARDS in LA can't figure out they already get enough special treatment they are in serious need of a brain transplant.
Even the AP report on the Chronicle's web site this morning reports the calls as questionable. Between this and Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals last year, what are fans supposed to think? It makes me wonder, why was the game on so late in the rest of the country in the first place.
I am not a Laker hater, but I was really routing for the Wolves--those were some bogus calls. I still think the Lakers will win this series, but I think Sac will eventually take care of them. Other ref notes.. Nets-Milw--pretty fair considering the uncalled walks. Suns-Spurs1 was almost as bad as last night. Most all late calls went for the Spurs and the most blantant offensive interference play was ignored since the rule has been in existence, but like last night the right team won. See a trend here? It is not just the Lakers, but the high seeds and stars (Kobe, Shaq, Duncan) get a lot of "protection" in the playoffs--especially on their home court.
Minnesota is a higher seed than LA, and Garnett is quite a big star himself. But he wasn't getting any calls last night. There certainly exists such a thing as star treatment, but the TWolves weren't getting any of it last night. That was outright, blatant favoritism of one team, moreso than just homecourt advantage.
Listen to what Phil Jackson said after the game: "I think we relaxed a little bit when Garnett went out of the ballgame,'' Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "They got some rebounds and some things that were really fortunate for them down the stretch." Fortunate? What fortunate? Like getting ripped off by the refs? Like getting foul calls without even touching the Lakers? Phil Jackson is such an AH. He blamed the loss to "we relaxed a little bit" (give some credit to your opponent's heart, man) and "something really fortunate."
