is raef available? yes, just like mcdyess is available (no sarcasm). why wouldnt he be? why should even mcdyess be untouchable? id trade anyone. there are no one on the rockets that fits that bill except guys like francis/griffin. face it, you guys dont have what we could use. thats not an insult.
good post! this is true. raef could be traded, although i still doubt it. however, because hes not a true center, the idea that we do trade him to get one (a center), that makes us better, should be a defintite possibility. thus any trade with the rockets to get raef requires a 3rd team since you have no one to help us NOW. but deals like that bulls one to get miller also are no good because getting a true center like miller isnt enough. it has to be someone who can help us. hell, cato is a true center, isnt he?
whoa, big question but im gonna keep my reply condensed. specific questions can be answered after. PG ; set with van exel, johnson, and cook. i dont see any traded. pack wont be signed. SG ; posey probably starts here with cheaney, lenard and wahad off the bench. cheaney/lenard is trade bait (last years of contracts)...wahad of course but no one wants him. posey not traded most likely. SF ; our weakest position...mccloud starts by default i assume. bench has bowen (wont be traded cuz he only has value on our team anyways...he sucks to any one else). wahad and posey can get a little time here. PF ; mcdyess. duh also willis can back him up as well as mcclinktock if he sticks or harvey or a FA if we can get one for 1.3 mill. backup is a need and is being searched for by issel. CN ; raef starts. willis also gets time here. we just need another big body. others ; cisse probably barely plays this year if at all (or even goes to europe), radojevic is also a project who didnt play last year but might be healthy to play some this year. id say our main 3 needs are : 1) backup PF/CN 2) starting SF 3) road consistency
Backup center/PF and SF you say? Sounds like you guys could use Kenny Thomas, Kelvin Cato, and Walt Williams!
hehe, i said starting SF so buh bye williams. thomas would be a good backup pf/center but not at the price of willis or raef. id like to have him as our 4th big man. cato - uh no.
hey, why dont you guys just trade for keon clark who (according to espn insider) is on the trade block? maybe toronto could use thomas, cato, collier, anderson, etc?
What, Walt Williams isn't going enough for you! You'll be sorry when Cato dominates next year! lol That's a good idea though about Clark, I don't know why the Rockets didn't try to work out something in the Dream deal to get him. And there are some big men around the league, I wonder if the Rockets are looking into them. Brendon Haywood just got dealt, so theyr'e out there! Oeilpere, if you're reading this, what's going on with the Rocks?
Nugzfan-watch out, I'm armed with an Issel quote. "We liked Brad a lot," said Dan Issel, the Nuggets' president and coach. "He's a physical player who can rebound and defend. We really thought he would have fit in well with our team. But the only way we were going to get Brad the kind of money that he was looking for was in a sign-and-trade deal [with Charlotte.] We couldn't work that out."Chicago trade deadline article What did you think of my mock trade? (Net result Raef/TAW for Miller, Collier, #1)
i absolutely remember that and i wanted us to get him badly. but please please please dont tell me you think that means miller for raef works. we like miller. doenst mean wed give raef for him. not one itsy bitsy bit. i do not like your trade at all. id want miller for guys like pack, cheaney, lenard...stuff like that. wont work cuz the bulls dont need them but thats why we wont get miller. we look for other options.
i dont get it. im being serious. clark could actually be traded, whereas raef (as of now) is not. and you have little we need but perhaps more the raps do.
Where've you been the past month? Many of us wanted Clark in return for Hakeem via S/T. Some of us feel cheated that all we got was 2 crappy draft picks and a trade exception. Trading any of the players you mentioned for Clark would be like CD squeezing out the icing on the cake at Hakeem/Toronto's wedding reception...
where have i been? uh...not here. if a thread doesnt have to do with the nuggets i probably dont read it. so i didnt know you all wanted clark or whatever for dream.
No insult taken. I'm just trying to get you to give me an idea what player or players would encourage you to trade Raef to us. If you were to say something like, We'll trade Raef to you, if you can get so & so team to send us so & so player or players, then I could go to that team & ask them what it would take to get so & so away from them. Thus, the beginning of a multi-team trade. Here's two trade ideas. One just involves Denver & Houston. The other one would involve Denver, Houston, & Chicago. #1) Would you trade Raef straight up for Mobley? (At this point, I'm just on an interest finding mission.) #2) Would you take Miller/Artest from Chicago in exchange for sending Raef/whatever to Houston to complete a deal? The players mentioned are the targeted players by all parties involved. Filler players would have to be inserted where necessary to meet the CBA requirements. If not these players, then tell me which players it would take to get you interested. I'm asking you to work with me on this, because you're always shooting down every trade scenario that's proposed by us homer's & yes, I realize that most of them are unrealistic, but that's what homer's do. Just give me an idea what specific players you would be interested in.
Cuttino is virtually untouchable. At least for Raef. No f*in way. You'd better do alot better if you want to get rid of Cuttino. Raef is NOT that good.
Read the part in the parenthesis. I'm just trying to get an idea of what it would take to get Raef & by the way, no one is untouchable. If it were true, then Dream would still be a Rocket. That's just a myth. If a team could trade a perceived untouchable player for a player or players that would put them into the Championship game, then they would be real stupid to let that chance go by. Sometimes you have to throw out a wild a** idea to get any bites.
Nugzfan What if we traded Cato to Chicago for Miller and change, and did a three way, where we s&t'd Anderson, and packaged them both with Kenny Thomas to you guys for LaFrentz and Wahad? Miller/Thomas/Anderson for LaFrentz/Wahad That could give you a starter at SF and backup at center and PF.
well im not going to go team-by-team and tell you which players id like in denver, but any specific ideas are cool. #1 - no and not because i think raef is better (hes not). its cuz it makes us win less games. #2 - maybe if 'whatever' is wahad. that might work. artest is pretty good.
Okay Nugzfan, Sorry it took so long to get back with you. I had to wait until RealGM removed Cato's BYC status. I've also included Washington in our deal, because of some info that Oeilpere has recently mentioned. Here goes: Houston sends Walt/future #1 pick to Washington. Houston sends Cato/Drew obligation to Chicago. Chicago sends Voskuhl/Ruffin/Miller/Guyton/Artest to Denver. Chicago sends Bagaric to Houston. Denver sends LaFrentz/Abdul-Wahad to Houston. Washington sends Richard Hamilton to Chicago. Washington sends Jahidi White to Houston. Houston would waive Bagaric, so that he could return to Chicago for the minimum, if Chicago wants him back. Denver would waive Voskuhl/Ruffin/Guyton, so that they could return to Chicago for the minimum, if Chicago wants them back. All four players(Bagaric/Voskuhl/Ruffin/Guyton) either have expiring contracts next year or team options, which could be renounced. Denver would receive a $1,013,332 trade exception & drop another $1.472 mill next year from the 3 players being renounced for an approximate total of $2.485 mill in salary reduction. They would acquire a solid center/SF & get rid of Tariq's salary. Washington would drop $1.5 mill this year & another $5 mill next year for a total salary reduction of approximately $6.5 mill. Chicago would take on about $200,000. They would also get Cato(whom they are reportedly still interested in), Hamilton(to replace the scoring punch of Brand), & be released from the Drew obligation, which has restricted their draft pick maneuvering. Houston would shore up the middle by acquiring LaFrentz/White & dump Cato's salary. We could also use Tariq as a backup to Mobley or try to retrade him at a later date. Houston would eat up about $2.3 mill in current cap space, which would leave plenty to resign Shandon/Moochie/Bull. Tyrone Nesby could be substituted for Hamilton to Chicago, if they would rather have him. It still works. So, what do you say? Shall we sign off on the deal?
