That's like 90% of rocket fans you see popping out now because of playoff time. Where were they in November and December?

Not a chance. Austin sports radio is generally terrible. I was driving around trying to find the Spurs/Clippers game on Sunday and 104.9 was playing Round Rock Express minor league baseball. 1300 AM was also playing minor league baseball.

I guess local minor league contracts prohibit them from picking up the San Antonio feed if an "Austin-centric" live event is also happening.

Jesus all I hear is draft draft draft. My god how much can you beat a dead horse. I can't believe that many people are so interested in the nfl off season that it drives the market for both radio stations. Maybe I am just catching them at the wrong time. But all week save for Wednesday morning it has been nothing but rehashing the draft.

Eh, it's once a year. Let them have this week to discuss the draft. It coincides perfectly with the Rockets being off for nearly a week after finishing off the Mavs. But starting next Monday, they better turn their attention to the 2nd round of the playoffs(and the Stros if they keep this run of theirs going).

Its not once a year. Its all football all the time. There was more Texans talk during rockets season after football ended than rockets talk.

Acting like the Texans had a real shot at making the playoffs.

How dare you make a comment like that after the recent events that occurred. Horses have feelings too and we shouldn't promote violence towards horses with emojis and words.

How can you use that word? You are obviously promoting gun violence.

Today PGS was a pain to the ear. I shut that thing of after 2 minutes. I heard Kevn Johnson and I thought "oohh maybe he said something about McHale and the Rockets" but I quickly realized it was the fake tough guy eggball Kevin Johnson.

I can't wait for the Rockets to win the ring and force these guys to talk Rockets all day err day.

Hah, you should have known that they weren't talking about Pho Suns Kevin Johnson. Lance is have a blast right now because he has an excuse to go all out NFL draft.

Don't even bother listening to the radio until Monday. Download Matt & Adams latest Rocket cast, they put one up yesterday breaking down the potential spurs/clippers round 2. It's about an hour long. It just barely fills the void to and from work today. NFL draft talk is unbearable. I normally do watch some of the draft just because it's on but I made it a point this year to not pay any attention to radio or the draft because I'm in full Rockets mode right now.

I'm willing to write off this week. Rockets haven't played since Tuesday and won't until next week and the draft is actually happening right now, so....

Hell, even Pallilo was talking draft yesterday.

What if the the rockets had a game last night or saturday? What do you think they would have been talking about. If there was a rockets game vs draft what would have gotten better ratings. I think houston is a just bad basketball town.

If you want them to talk Rockets, you have to call, text, tweet en masse to force the issue. The stations will pander to the listners wishes as ratings drive ad revenue.

When you haven't sniffed a title in 20 years, it tends to hurt wide spread following of the team. Combine that with the cities growth from transplants (most international and diverse city in America) and it's not hard to see why the focus remains on the most popular sport.

What is there to talk about with the Rockets right now? We can talk in generalities, but what about in terms of specifics? We don't even know their 2nd round opponent yet. Like I said, if they're still ignoring the Rockets come Monday morning when the next series is about to get underway and we know who they're playing, then there's justification for being PO'd. Right now though, I can't blame them for discussing the NFL draft over the NBA.

Instead of running to your computers to complain on a message board about the lack of Rockets talk on the radio, why don't you all call and initiate the conversation? These are caller driven stations after all.
