^I am not saying Harden should do everything, I just think Beverley shouldn't sit there and dribble the clock put and then take a contested shot, I mean if houston is up by a lot then do whatever, but in playoff games you can't do that trash ball in a close game...
I dont think he should have it all the time...They just need to have something planned, for when he doesn't, and be on the same page about it. This team really has to play smarter, not just harder. We're not talented enough individually to let guys make something out of nothing. Hell, we still can't even make good entry passes.
It's cause Milkhair sucks... this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.... the guy has no concept regarding the finer points of the game...
I know that running time off the clock at the end of game is extremely important, but one of most common Rockets mistakes is to not make a decent effort to still score on the possession they're trying to stretch. Harden can often score with a step back with one second left, but not always. I feel like they should run the clock to 8 seconds, at which point they execute a good play to the basket, which still leaves enough time to kick out for a three if it fails. The way they manage killing time now means they should either just give it Harden or let the clock run all 24 seconds, take the violation, and trade 24 seconds for points. Of course, at the end of a close game, you really have to score, so they should not be utilizing that down-to-the wire, highly-predictable, one-opportunity play.
^^ exactly..they start playing not to lose too early, rather than just continuing to play. They just serene end up setting up a closer game. It would help, but there is still that problem of bad entry passing and being unaware of the clock. They use to give the ball to Dwight in the post with like 5 seconds sometimes...He's got enough trouble with half a shot clock, as it is.
