Obviously the CBA fans suck, if their reason for not going is Isiah Thomas' ego and stupidity. Did Thomas lock the doors fom the arenas to prevent fans from coming in or something?

It's actually 3 years in NCAA. Or you have to be within 45 days of being 21 years old from the day you are drafted.

    For JC, it's any year.

The NFL's rule is 3 years removed from when you ended high school.

Um, the CBA fans kept going but Isiah spent all the money on idiotic things and bankrupted the teams. The fans didn't go away. Isiah ran it into the ground by mismanagement.

    uhhh......Eye of the Tiger?
We didn't just lose, we got 6th!

As far as a minor league goes, good freakin' luck.
Used to be college, but now the best 'talent' only stays for a year.
This is something Stern and crew should be looking MUCH more into rather than wasting time with the WNBA and expansion.

I think the situations with basketball and baseball are different. Not only financially, but also skillwise. It usually takes 3 years for players from high school to develop. If those three years were played in college, they wouldn't be paid legally. If they went to a minor league, they would. NO offense, but the socioeconomic situation with most basketball players is different than baseball players. Therefore, I think more would go to minor leagues straight from HS.

The nba is making billions of dollars and to think they couldn't start something with their own money is crazy, think about think. I've been saying this way before Devaney even dreamed of this.

Every player from completeion of high school can be drafted, just like baseball. Every team in the legue has a affiliate , that is run by that organization from coaches,to trainers, to everything. Players drafted by a team and the team hold the rights for 5 yrs, so if a guy wanted to go to college for a couple of yrs, then he could. In the summer, the player could go to his assigned team and work with the coaching staff on his developement without losing elgibility like baseball. Once the player decides to come out early and a team has his rights, he's already ahead of the curve as far as learning that teams offense, defense and weight training procedures.

Think about this. The Rockets draft Eddie Griffin and know he's a project but like his talent. They send him either back to Seton Hall or to their team located in Woodlands,Clear Lake, Galveston or somewhere in the area. There he works with the Rockets development staff as far as shooting, posting up , weight lifting and so forth. This league will run concurrent with the nba league. The Rockets are monitoring his progression against good competion as this league will provide veterans who don't want to go overseas to play an opportunity to play here, make money and still have a shot at the nba. This Rockets team is filled with the like of Ike Nwonko, Jason Collier, Dan Langhi, Tierr Brown, Oscar Torres, and so forth. The Rockets suddenly have a player who gets hurt, instead of looking on the waiver wire, the Rockets can get a player who know their system and plays because the players have been learning them at the affiliate. Instead of hiding a player on the ir the entire yr, would this be a better option?

I have vision of this league making the nba a league everyone wants to watch again like in the 80's. People, including colleges and Stern should realize that the league is only as good as the weakest player/team. Who doesn't like to see good basketball at any level? The NBA is drafting player so young and they know the players are not even close to being ready, but draft them anyway. Many players sole reason to go to college is to play basketball and maybe make a living at it. This is where Europe and its liberal ideas are beating the nba ideaology. If a guy like Lenny Cook or some other talented youngster wants to hoop, but doesn't want to go 6,000 miles and play in bomb riddled gyms like in Isreal and places like that, why not provide them with a chance to do it here? Why not help these lotto picks get better quicker under the watchful eye of their developmental league without getting rid of a veteran before its time? t only makes sense, but the problem is, it makes too much sense.
