So all Cops need is info that a suspect has a weapon to use deadly force? They don't need to see it? Sounds like its open season on killing folks
One of the biggest problem with cops today is that they're trained to react and resolve a situation as fast as possible which only encourages reactionary behavior that can result in accidents like this. A lot of cities and municipalities are trying to implement training that emphasizes slow and thoughtful decision making in policing even if it greatly increases the length of an actual police stop/incident. There is however a lot of resistance to this from police departments across the country. We really need to push police departments to buy into this. Cops have to be taught to be more thoughtful and careful in their decision making. We'll see better policing and less accidents as a result.
