I do know what Bynum brings to the Lakers. I just think that he'll be coming off the bench at first (specialy before the playoffs until he gets back in shape).

I'm still amazed of how deep and good the Lakers are. I've been watching their games for the last 4 years or so. But this year they are the most fun team to watch. It's funny how the Lakers broadcasters are used to lots of scoring that when they only score 55 in the first half, they think it's an off night!

Another blowout by the Lakers. This time Sonics as their victim.

And Kobe just got tossed with a double technical.

LOL@ Bynum being a defensive anchor. You LA fanboys of all people should know that he isn't known for any defense.

Lost in all this Pau hype is Lamar Odom playing pretty damn good. The guys has been averaging close to 20 and 10 with a couple of assists here there the past few games.

if there are critics saying the Rockets schedule is soft right now, look no further than the Lakers current powderpuff schedule.

its like the Celtics at the beginning of the season.

    nothing special.

    GO ROckets

I would love for us to meet them in the playoffs. If both squads are healthy then we beat them. I would put money on that.

I don't care what Lakers fans say. Yao + Scola/Landry is better than Bynum and Gasol. They can talk about Odom but he plays smaller than he is and would be handled by either Battier or Tmac defensively. If B. Jackson plays anywhere near as energetic and efficiently as he did tonight then I'm calling PG a wash if not in favor of the Rockets. I just don't see LA with a clear cut advantage.

Of course, Kobe could go off on us but Tmac or Yao could go off big time on LA as well so I am not really worried about the Mamba factor.

I would rather face the Lakers in the 1st round than the Jazz.

tab me in for that one as bad as this sounds....I think we would struggle more against Okur/Boozer than Bynum/Gasol. Because the first two can man-handle us, while both can make number 11 a non-factor, I can't see Bynum and Gasol doing that for seven games.

What about a certain guy name Kobe Bryant, buddy?

I don't think so. This is a perimeter game more than ever. Tmac can have a field day on the Jazz, he always does. Derek Fisher guarded him physically last year, and Tmac let him off the hook by shooting jumpshots. Plus, the Jazz don't have anyone who can single handedly win a series. You can't underestimate Derek Fisher's tenacity and experience.

I know that the media is quick to jump to conclusions like jumping on the Lakers bandwagon. They are right this time though as much as we hate the Lakers.
The Lakers have finally grasped Phil's triangle offense and they have extraordinary talent that can run everything to perfection. I would rather have a team like San Antonio knock out the Lakers.

I would like the Rockets to face New Orleans, Utah, Phoenix, San Antoinio or Dallas in that order. Dallas has that psychological edge since they beat us pretty good. I would rather face them in a later round.

You can make an argument that the Lakers are good but young off the bench with Vujacic and Farmar, but so are the Rockets with Scola and Landry.

Honestly, the Lakers are a good team! The are not great and Phil knows that one!!! That's why they run more often than not in PHX fashion to shore up for their defensive defficiencies....

We match up much better with them than we have matched up with Utah inthe past because we can play them straight up without have to switch any defensive matchups other than the usual, "Shane you take the best player!" thing that we do to save Tracy's fouls.

Yao vs. Bynum ... I do believe that Yao prefers Centers his height to beat up on, but Andrew is no longer the snotty nose kid-punching bad. He is very capable of matching up well against Yao, but look for the All-Star to show him it is not yet his time to shine.

Scola vs. Gasol ... Pau is the proven player and will probably do much better in a triangle system in the playoffs rather than losing like he is much-accustomed to in the playoffs. I like Gasol in this matchup, but as we have seen Luis is a never-say-die kind of guy so it can be interesting because he has shown that he can raise the level of his game.

Odom vs. McGrady ...I have noticed that both of these players are much more active on both ends of the court come playoff time. Lamar will be the 3rd option as he probably prefers some of the pressure off and Tracy will assume his role as the star when the lights are on. If his back is fine, knee, wrist and whatever else is going on than he will do fine and outplay Mr. Odom easily. If not, Lamamr will be the X-Faxtor.

King Kobe vs. Battier ...Well Shane will try his best, but this is the best offensive player in the association, so good luck. Kobe has done a good job at picking us apart. Hopefully, Battier will bring his offense to the playoffs...Something he has yet to do as a Rockets. If not, it will be long nights for us!

Fish vs. Skip ...This would weigh in Rafer's favor only of he shoots close to 40%. It sounds simple, but we know he goes through entire months shooting like Stevie Wonder in the dark...He will get lots of minutes due to his low turnover prowess, however, he must find a way to actually be the point guard...NOT TRACY HANDOFFS AT HALF-COURT...He can not allow Tracy to dominate the ball in the center of the court. Skip has to actually penetrate. I know this sounds crazy, but I have seen us successful with Rafer penetration when Tracy was out. This can work with him in as well.

Farmar vs. B Jax ...Two high energy players. This will be an exciting matchup!

Ronny T. vs. Landry ...Please read previous

I believe this could be an intriguing series and that the Lakers like many other Western Confrence teams are not that much better or worse than any other team. the gap has closed and the levees have broken. Everyone will have to swim to the finish line to have a chance to compete. I look at this as a great opportunity for Boston or Detroit to actually win it all because the Western representer will have bloody eyes going into the final fight.

The Rockets have played the Lakers tough and just because they have gotten one new guy in the mix does not make them way better than the Rockets. Yao vs Gasol I will take Yao. The Rockets will prove the Lakers that they to can be a force to be reckon with. I don't think the Lakers have played any tough teams on their curretn win streak.

I don't know if Carlos Boozer can do it by himself, but he certainly destroyed Yao and Van Gundy's D strategy last year. I don't think the Rockets match up with the Jazz that great at all.

    Boozer in that series:
    24.6 ppg
    50% FG
    11 rpg
    3.4 apg

I like the way people tend to overlook Kobe, hopefully we'll meet you in the playoffs.
