My honest belief is that over the course of a game these things balance out. Maybe not exactly but the number of times that the referees make a mistake in your favor and against you probably cancel each other out. Some may happen closer to the end of games, but in games like this early mistakes can be just as important in changing momentum & mindset of a team as well as the outcome/score/

I definitely feel that over the course of 82 games the number of games "gifted" to a team by the refs will be very close to the number of games "lost" by referee mistakes.

Also, it is human nature to reward teams that are playing with energy and passion. Teams who are hustling and being aggressive the entire game. If you are playing that way, and you get more calls, more often than not you are playing harder and in a way deserve those breaks.

They had to beat the Pistons to get out of the East. The Lakers haven't beaten one team in the West as good as that Detroit team in the last 3 postseasons.

Are you kidding me? A 53 win Pistons are better than any team Lakers had to beat in west? How about the 08 Spurs who just swept Cavs the year before? And do you know 07 Cavs would be No.6 seed in west going against Spurs in round 1?

LeBron should be thankful he's in west or he'd be Tracy McGrady by now.

They had to beat 3 50wins team just to get out of west. And how is LeBron's record against 50 wins team?

    1W5L for crying out loud.

Really, why do you need hypotheticals when Cavs's 50 wins would be No.6 seed against No.3 seeded Spurs in first round in 07. Don't we know how LeBron choked against an aged Bowen already? 22/35%. Kobe never had a playoff series that bad since he's an all star.

Yes those 53 win Pistons, with the 4th best record in the league, were better than the Spurs with a gimpy Manu. They were better than the self destructive Nuggets, the Thunder, the no defense Suns, and any other Western team LA beat in the last 3 years. To hell with a regular season record. Give me one argument, team against team with matchups, why you would take any of those Western teams over Detroit in a series.*

And Kobe should be thankful he's had great teammates throughout most of his career or he too would be Tracy McGrady.

I guess he showed Shaq how thankful he was to have him by snitching on him to the cops.;)

He wins when it matters. See the last two seasons.
Your guy fails each postseason, and rips his jersey off.

He's still scared to go to the line at the end of games. You can't be clutch and scared to go to the line. Even Shaq wasn't scared to go to the line, even though he wasn't a good ft shooter.
