If it wasn't COVID it's always something. "Kyrie Irving has missed 314 games in his career! Out of a possible 1036 games, the Brooklyn Nets man has not featured in a game day roster 30.3 percent of the time" https://thesportsrush.com/nba-news-...n-a-game-day-roster-30-3-percent-of-the-time/ After vaccine was released, a chunk of that time was NY state law. Nets was abiding that. They've been far more accommodating than most regular companies would. Born in 1992, technically gen Y/ Millennial. He's 30 now. The young man excuse only go so far If Kyrie found happiness with his life, with his wealth, with not being told what to do. He could just retire comfortably. Him opting in is consenting to a relationship with his employer, media obligations and all.
I hate that he opted in. I was excited about him blowing up the team this year so that we could get another great shot at the #1 pick in 2023 with our pick swap, but if he wants to take another year to completely blow up that franchise then that's fine. He's so toxic I have no doubt he'll find a way to ruin everything.
Nice twisting and dodging to cover up his lies and unreliability. I know Boston fans are subhuman, but they're still fans. He still screwed over the Celtics with broken promises, but **** the celtics amirite? He's one of the few players who could both not play AND get paid. Do you think he'd sit healthy half the season if his bank account was half lighter? I hope Brooklyn folk who bought season tickets on the promise of him playing feel like you. If you made the same choices with vaccines, you'd be out of a job or with an employer that suspends your pay. Standing up for your principles is great. Deserves applause when it ain't easy, But doing that while feeling like you're above its consequences or are deserving of more is selfish and delusional.
yea. Standing up is easy when their are no consequences Don't b*tch about the consequences that you knew were part of Standing up They are the reason it was a brave thing to do Rocket River
That would be a hoe move for Kyrie to make. But you know what they say, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned so who knows.
Could this have been the plan. KD taking the ultimate L to get his friend Kyrie to LA? WITH THAT SAID . . . . Remember that meme of Westbrook as DEATH knocking on each door . . . . I need that for Kyrie now Rocket River
So how does Kyrie get to LA? Trading Westbrook for him is a non-starter--the whole point is to dump Irving's contract and Westbrook makes more, and both are for one year.
He imploded a bunch of contending teams now. It's the most basic proof that the guy is not about winning or his team. He is about himself. And yes, he is scared of things he doesn't understand or of trusting others to know better than him. I said nothing about vaccine - it's just one of many various reasons he found not to be there for his team. I also said nothing about LeBron - although it's funny that they were thinking about reunion just the other week (so Lebron certainly doesn't hate Kyrie.) I care about this mainly because this guy screwed up Harden's already tarnished legacy. Harden is someone who stayed with Rockets for a long time and was loyal to us (albeit in misguided ways). If you think this is semantics, then I suggest that you agree to disagree. No need to be triggered by it.
At some point you have to slam your nuts on the dresser. I write Kyrie an email in Comic Sans telling him that he's got an entire year free on his calendar to explore the flatness of the Earth and not to expect to be traded and he's not allowed into the facilities or near the team. Then i call KD and tell him were trading him to the best deal for us so his list of preference does not matter. Then i do everything i can to get Ben Simmons off the books and fix the cap and draft pick situation for the good of the franchises future and publicly apologize to the fans for allowing KD, Kyrie and James Harden to set our franchise back years.
[Windhorst] "Kyrie Irving is out of town as fast as he possibly can and he is focused on forcing himself to the Lakers"
FIrst thing I thought was... why the hell are they going to have to give up Seth Curry? It should be the Lakers offering more players.
The Nets' only option would be to blow things up, unless they can somehow get a young star in return for KD. In this scenario, I would think the Nets would be squeezing as many picks as they can out of the Lakers or whoever, to make up for all the ones they've given away to Houston. And if the dominoes do fall, it would mean that in a year's span, the Nets would have lost their entire Big Three, and the only "star" player left would be... Ben Simmons. Unbelievable.
