Kyle is playing very good. He will be even better when Aaron is back and when TWill gets in there. With Aaron taking away most of Shane's and Budinger's shots and with TWill running off the bench, I look for Lowry's assist numbers to take another jump up to 9 or so.
I think one should exclude Lowry's games against the Grizz as outliers. He always play abnormally well against them.
I'd like to see Kevin Martin and Luis Scola's numbers in that same time frame. The chemistry is undeniable between those three in our starting lineup.
A guy who has usually shot about 27% from long range isn't suddenly going to become one of the best 3 point shooters in the league. These stats are a fluke. You all forget that even Rafer had stretches where he lit it up.
I think Daryl Morey said he thinks Lowry will end up shooting around 33% by the end of the season. You're right, this is a hot streak.
It's not fair to him or Aaron to split the minutes, both are capable of being a winning team's point guard. I love both these guys, but if we are going to keep Kevin Martin around (which we should) then we need to ship Aaron out for a quality big.
That Rafer Alston trade for Lowry was a genius trade. I didn't understand why Lowry got so much hate for Lowry, after the trade for Alston. We finally had somebody that would finish his basket or get fouled.
No team is going to trade a quality big(shotblocking rebounding inside presence) for 5'11" PG, unless that PG is CP3.
At this point, for Lowry to wind up at 33% means he will have to be taking a lot of bad 3 point shots or bail-out shots. Don't see that happening. Lowry is doing an excellent job of shot selection, picking his spots, and judging between passing to another shooter vs. driving to the rim vs. taking his own jump shot. He's not taking jump shots while he is covered unless it is an shotclock wind-down situation. He is taking the wide open 3-balls where he has time to set his feet because the defense has backed off so far and is giving him the shot. I say he winds up at somewhere around 36-39% from 3.
Knote! Should I pick up Grant Hill for Lowry with Brooks coming back??? He carried me this week in the assist and steal categories.
Thanks. It's a 16 team roster too. How about Brooks??? Does his value diminish a lot or will we still use him a lot maybe at SG? I can see him playing SG against the Wizards with Hinrich/Wall.
Just a guess, but with Yao out, and the team going to be assembled as a run and gun team going forward. I expect Kyle to be putting up about 10-7 per game, and AB to be around 18 and 6. Both will be playing 30+ Minutes per game. DD
with no yao there is no longer a need to have a brooks start imo. we dont need that outside shooting as much and kyle has been running the team pretty well...18 asts wow
My only gripe with Lowry is that he can't run the pick and roll very well. He's great at running a pick and pop with either Scola or Miller. That's fine for now because those guys are great midrange shooters. But Jordan Hill isn't a great shooter yet but he is a great finisher, so running a great PnR is a must right now.
