this is very common...look at the RFAs on the board, not many of them are signed, especially when compared to FAs, ythe majority of those that are signed, got initial offers from other teams....no reason to think this only happens in houston with Morey..it happens EVERYWHERE.

This is not true. He's had a picture of himself on the bench in a suit for a good long while now.

Four pages about this... Really... Why? Seriously, what difference does this tweet possible make?

First of all, no one here has a clue what it means. This could be in reference to just about anything, so chill out folks.

Second, even if it does mean he is pissed and he wants out of Houston, so what? Who cares? If the Rockets truly intend, and there is no reason to think that they don't, to match any offer, at the end of the day he will either have to get paid and play here or sit out. What's the problem? Do you think he'll play like crap or be a problem because he is mad about the RFA process? He'll hold a grudge all year and undermine the team? He'll forsake his own financial future in the league by being a Jake? Of course not. The dude is a competitor and when the lights are on competitors compete. Competitors don't let hurt feelings and emotions get in the way of the game.

And aren't the Rockets, if their stated intentions are true, making sure he gets full market value by handling the process this way? I know from Houston's perspective they are trying not to be over zealous and overpay, but it gives the player the opportunity to find out what others are willing to fork over for his services. I'm sure the waiting game sucks for the player, but ultimately it lets the league set his value. It is a cold reminder that this is a business, but it seems fair to me.

Settle down people, and yes I realize that I just spent way too much time responding to a thread that I ridiculed for getting too much attention. My hypocrisy has been noted.

His most recent pic before the black background was in in uniform running point, holding up a play with his fist.

Maybe he was looking forward to a raise but no one is dealing him an offer for the rockets to match...

so when lowry is frustrated about being powerless in free agency/the business aspect of basketball, you guys have no sympathy for him..... yet you want to be mad at lebron for taking control of his destiny.

Maybe it was Emily Dickinson. I guess not. He'd also use an inordinate amount of dashes, and she's been dead for over 100 years.

Sorry for the confusion, I expect the Rockets have already offered him a multiyear contract worth more then the qualifying offer for which Lowry thinks is a lowball offer. Regardless if they have or haven't, Lowry isn't feeling the love from the Rockets as they haven't offered him a contract that he feels shows him the love.

The Rockets are treating this like a business move. Business moves does not make a player feel wanted. I see nothing wrong with either side. The Rockets are gambling that they won't get a disgruntled player. Lowry is gambling that he won't piss off his future employer which looks bad for other potential future employers as well.

He can't do anything unless he wants to go to Greece like Childress.

Probably his agent tried to get the Rockets to negotiate with their RFA's like many other teams do. Morey however crunched the numbers and found that it's much more cost effective NOT to bid against yourself, ala Tom Hicks in the A-Rod situation. Does it piss the player and agent off? Sure, they feel like they're not wanted when the organization the player belongs to won't even give them a reasonable offer comparable to other teams'. But in the end it's the best decision for our franchise, and we'll still end up with Lowry next year.

Personally if I had to keep one, I'd let go of Brooks before Lowry. That doesn't mean he's irreplacable, but I'd go up to 7M to keep him, that's how much I think Lowry's worth.

mmm yeah i dont think he is worth 7 mil per, if he was he would of already been offered that much by someone else. He was offered something by the rockets, so was scola, but they didn't sign as of yet, because they may get more money, simple as that, nothing to read into his tweet.. but if he wants out then so be it he can be replaced, if he wants to stay he knows we all love his game.
