I find it adhorent that people think it is ok to toss a ball at a female ref....or any ref.

Just deal with the bad call...it was an exhibition game.

    Weaksauce...

She was an off-duty police officer:

    ---------------------------------

Because the case was a misdemeanor, Lowry, 25, was not required to appear in court. The community service must be completed at a women’s shelter by July 19.

Lowry was accused of throwing a ball at a game official after a game during the lockout.

According to court documents, Lowry apologized to the official, InFini Robinson, a former UNLV and Michigan player and off-duty police officer, saying: “I’m sorry. I truly apologize for what I did. I let my emotions get the best of me.”

No one says it's ok. Some of us just don't think it's criminal.

Just like it's not ok to curse people on a sports bbs. But it's not criminal. You should know that, DD.

We don't know what really happened to the tiniest detail so there is no absolute evidence what was going on. Kyle as a male basketball player hurt the female.......who happened to be the ref during a meaningless game.

State of Nevada found him guilty so there you go. He accepted. This is end of story.
I don't really know what kind of human being Miss Robinson is.. but I know Kyle a tad better. It was his fault but Miss Robinson could have heckled him. Nothing is proven.

I doubt anything would have happened if she wasn't a police officer.

    Kyle learned a valuable lesson.

Throwing a basketball at someone as hard as you can can really hurt.

Stupid woman couldn't just accept the apology. Now she's wasting people's time and money.

While it was a truly classless act on Lowry's part... I find it ABHORRENT that the DA wasted resources pursuing a criminal case in this matter.

Lowry should be given a medal. He was standing up for all of our civil rights to not watch professional sports refereed by inept females. Rude? Yes. True? Yes.

So if you get mad at a woman it's fine to hit them also?

First off Kyle Lowry was the guy who wasted people's time because he couldn't control his temper. Besides even leaving gender aside you shouldn't be taking out your frustrations physically on a ref. If this had been an NBA game that is an automatic fine and suspension at the minimum.

So in a situation where you might punch a guy that was mouthing off to you you would do the same to a woman?

it is not very smart to punch a man OR a woman. Either one will get you a law suit.

throwing a basketball on the other hand? come on. if you have ever played an officiated game, you know exactly how refs can abuse their powers. i'm sure she was being a total b**** and was probably talking ****. i've played pick-up ball with Kyle on a few occasions and he does not seem like the type to get angry for no reason, much less throw an object at someone.

So are you saying it's fine to hit a man if you're mad at them?

Stop factoring out the gender part and just look at what happened. It's not fine to hit anyone regardless of gender.
