Love Klow, but his window for this team has passed in my opinion. We all in on PFs and SFs and Centers that can shoot 3's. With Harden, EG, PatBEV, and SweetLou there is no spot for him.
We could theoretically find room for him though. The way the Rockets and the league are trending, PFs are becoming Cs, SFs are becoming PFs, and SGs are becoming SFs. This means we can start Gordon at SF (like we are about to do in Game 5), Harden at SG, which would then open up a starting role at guard.
its already hard enough to find minutes for harden, eg, lou, and bev. And you never see all 4 of those guys together. Adding lowry makes no sense. And I haven't even addressed guys like ariza who needs minutes
Couldn't we just move PBev and SweetLou? Lowry is everything they are and more.... A Harden/ Lowry/ EGo backcourt rotation would be amazing. I don't know if it would make sense to try and redefine everything we just did this season though? Putting in Lowry as a non-primary ball handler would be dumb... and moving Harden from PG would also be dumb.
Pellies, Utah would be wise to let their current starters go in FA and target Lowry. I also fully expect the Spurs to target him (and Paul). All things being equal he would almost certain sign with SA. As an aside, this dude is, or at the very least has been, a straight choker in the Playoffs. Do not want, I'd prefer Bev & Lou or an upgrade over Ariza.
I think he re-ups with Toronto. If he does leave the only logical choice I see would be the spurs. And that would suck.
Patrick Beverley has made Kyle Lowry obsolete. Especially, when you consider the amount of money that Lowry will likely demand. Rockets need to keep their eyes on Paul George, Gordon "white boy over there" Hayward, and Jimmy Buckets.
It blows my mind thinking about a player will earn 40 million per year just playing basketball. A player is good but not great and has no international marketing appeal. NBA has a huge problem, too much money but not enough talents. The product they present is mediocre at best. LeBron will probably win a championship again this year because NBA is desperate to create a global icon and keep ppl interested. They also hope by the time LeBron retires, someone will carry the torch but that one is nowhere in sight. Sorry teams are everywhere and players are flooded with money. Even you don't win, you will still get boatload of money because there are not enough talents to go around. Pathetic.
