never was a borderline all star player are you implying a stretch of 15 games of 15.7,6.9,8.7 is not borderline all star level
No, those are borderline superstar level numbers. But 15 games is far from enough to justify said player being an all star, it simply means he had a hot stretch. Just like Lin's 25 games.
Nah, you just are interpreting too literally. When Yao made a 3 vs. Golden State his rookie year I'd describe him as putting up 3's, even though he only put up one such shot. It's an expression. No need to get TOEFL on it. Below average for what - starters, the position, usage, pace? Remember you're the a literal interpretationist, so you've painted yourself into that corner. I don't know who that is...but I have a guess. Is this some stupid LOF thing? Oh, for ****'s sake, I see the post above mine. Now I see what's going on here. Take it somewhere else dude - I've never bashed Lin and never go into any of these stupid LOF- anti-LOF wars. Screw you and all of you idiot LOF's for dragging not even tangential threads into this dumb mire. You suck.
Samfisher, You are rude yet you are clueless. It is clear that you are incapable of having a civil conversation without insulting someone, but I will do my best to accomodate that. Based on your logic Michael Redd was throwing up buzzer beaters because he once hit a buzzer beater although missed everything for the rest of his career; Dwight Howard was throwing up post fadeaways because he made 1 in a span of a season; You used polarized wording to prop up a player who was never that good without backing up your claim, it's exactly the same problem with LOF/LOH. No, this is not a LOF thing, if you thought otherwise then you are r****ded. I don't see the problem of mentioning Lin as he's on the rockets and his track record indicates he's a perfect example to use in cases like this --- Great performance but small sample size. Stop assuming whoever mentions Lin's name is a LOF. Here's some more stats for you, as you mentioned, adjusted for per 100 possessions. During the hottest streak of 15 games, Lowry's tov% is 20.1 at a failry high usage rate of 22.5%. Yes, its below average.
It's not logic, it's a colloquialism. If it was based on logic, a computer (or presumably, you) would interpret the logic of "throwing up buzzer beaters" to indicate that he vomited up something via his digestive tract that was previously physically striking a buzzer. Average of what? Post or back to LOF-town with you.
Chill dude this has little to do with the LOF crap. I was the one who questioned why you posted the PER 20 and I brought up small sample size because the only time Lowry has been anywhere close to PER 20 has been the last two partial seasons(47 & 19 games). I also questioned the use of PER because Calderon's career PER(17.4) is better than Lowry's(16.2) I also posted earlier in the thread a comment Barkley made about Lowry which was that Lowry deserved to be on the all star team last year because of his great early season play, but he probably would never get another chance again in his career. Is Lowry a very good PG? Yes Did Lowry put up very impressive all star type #'s during his 47 games last season? Yes Is Lowry a better shooter than Rondo? Yes Is Lowry a better PG than Rondo? No
Not the popular consensus, but it has happened on here before. Also, Dragic was voted to be a better point guard in the 2nd link (thread) than Rondo. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=214377 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=7897 http://bbs.clutchcity.net/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=7739 http://bbs.clutchcity.net/showthread.php?t=215729
i am happy with the current rockets' roster, i dont care even if lowry is averaging 30-10-10 because TOR isnt winning anything right now.
But how is Akim523 being a LOF when he's saying that those games by Lin are not enough to prove anything because of the small sample size?
