I feel the same way. I reckon lowery to do a better job as a starter while brooks comes off our bench as instant offense, kinda like jason terry type of roll.

I added that up to get 39 wins, not 49....

Haha. Lowry is a great backup PG, one of the best in the league, but he is not a starting point guard on a playoff team. He can't shoot, so teams can cheat way off him in the half court, and his passing is only average when he's forced into a half court set... about the same as Brooks really.

He excels in the full court, but when teams gameplan for the playoffs, they will be able to shut him down easily by forcing him into a role he is not equipped to play.

If Kyle Lowry were 5 inches taller, he'd be Tyreke Evans.

Oh dear. I take a bit of time away from the forum and this is what happens? Please leave the statistics work to the geniuses.

This team played so damn well in the hardest part of the season (Nov., Dec, and early Jan.) Too many injuries to key personnel when we couldn't afford these players missing any significant time did us in. In addition, the Martin trade (loss of a key player in Landry, Mr. Fourth Quarter) took some cohesiveness from this team.

As for next season, we have pgs, sgs, sfs. The obvious hole in the middle is so glaring it might as well be the Grand Canyon. Hayes, bless his heart, shouldn't be asked to play center again.

No way Morey stand pat and not get us a real shot blocker/rebounder who will probably be asked to start at center next season (I just don't have much confidence Yao will be ready by November).

To be fair, it took Lowry some time to start playing Lowry bb again, and I am not even sure he is playing at the same level he was just before the first ankle injury. Dude was shooting and making 3's. Remember that game in Dallas where he single-handlely won the game for us?

And Lowry lacks the shooting ability that AB has, but IMO they are equally important

If Kyle Lowry could shoot, he'd be Steve Nash.

Ok, I'm exaggerating, but here's hoping he develops a jumper in the offseason. He's still young, so it's possible. He would be quite a scary weapon if he does.

Is he the best backup point in the league?

I think so, certainly the most important to his team.

He is our Bobby Jackson, a tempo changer, a guy who comes in and changes games.

gotta love Lowry. We got to keep him, his play changes the dynamics of game when he is on the floor. He is a little more unpredictable, defenders always have to constantly readjust. He reads the flow of the game better than brooks and he good at changing speeds. He is a key to why our bench scored soo much this season.

Has Lowry ever hit the clutches in the last few seconds? I don't think so.

HAHAHAHA UTTER FAIL!!!!! You sir are completely wrong ...

    first of all 20*.4 = 8 and 64*.545=34.88 now 34.88+8=42.88

Now the part where you fail even more is that you put 20 and 64 which = 84. Lets go with this anyways 42.88/84=.5104.

Your bolded statement is NEVER TRUE... so go and check this for yourself.

He is on spot. If you other dudes really think a back up will turn 8 losses into 8 wins your mistaken.

And for the record he also mentioned if Brooks was hurt instead of Lowry, it would be the same thing, same record. I concur. Simply putting Lowry by himself isnt that much of a difference maker.

I wont argue that we would have had a better record if he didnt get hurt, but not 8 games worth.

If Chris Paul is playing then no. Otherwise I can't think of anyone else playing.

dude, frikken rafer alston ran the magic to the finals last year. its all about how the team is built, and the rockets are built for AB to start and lowry to be a change of tempo off the bench.

i think AB is a better fit with yao because AB is a better shooter, but when we starting running up and down the court, let lowry wreak havoc.
