What the hell? He's clearly a starter, and has proven himself in the clutch many times. Did you read what I typed or just skimmed? I said he could be the starter on a championship team, but my criticism are very valid. No one ever said Parker was a great defender, but Parker has a suddeness and explosion factor that made him finals mvp. Even so, parker is still on par, maybe even a better defender than lowry. Lowry the bench player was a good defender, but lowry the starter is very average as a defender.
in the miami game, kyle was the best player not named dwane wade or lebron james. he can be my championship point guard anytime - he brings the hu$tle!
The scariest thing about Lowry is that when he puts up numbers, they are just so much more significant than your average star, because he still does all the little things that made him the ultimate intangible guy. His leadership is exactly what this team needed. Love that he is fighting through this ankle injury too. Awesome. Rarely do you find a top 10 TS% and a top 10 DP's(Steals/Blocks/Charges) PG, unless they kick ass, which Kyle surely does. It has been a long time coming, too.
I would think the Rockets would only trade him for Dwill CPaul or maybe if you go younger Curry. And actually with Howard coming available in 2 years why not hold on to Lowry just for his significantly low contract for how he performs. Not saying we get Howard but I still stand by my belief that IF Miami doesn't win anything in the next 2 years Howard will look for a team with a good all around roster instead of aligning with stars, something we have. Imagine in 2014 Lowry/Dragic Martin/Lee or even Lee/ Martin at that time (Remember lee and howard are friends) Hopefully a new SF unless Bud steps it up/Lee PPat/Chuck/Hill Howard/Thabust(maybe he could become a decent defensive backup by then)/ Chuck Thats a solid roster... Contender for sure.
If you have a superstar on your team, then yes Lowry can absolutely be a PG on a championship. The thing is that Lowry is possibly the best player on our team right now.
Klow is a championship PG if and when he wins a championship. He is playing extremely well and I see him as a winner for a long time to come. zzpot puff puff
