I doubt that the Raps would give him up now. He has had 10-15 straight games where he played his best basketball.

He's an assist first PG with some range and a plays some good D.

He is a better and more mature player than Lin or Bev.

I don't know how his contract is setup now, but would you guys be willing to take him back?

He is not coming back as long as Mchale is still the coach.

Why? So he can join asik on the pout and demand trade bench? Lin takes McHales benching in good stride . Imagine if he did that to Lowry again.

I tend to agree with this, especially if he's not the clear starter. That was one seriously scorched bridge. I think Lowry is only an option here as an expiring contract, but his value is greater than that to a lot of teams right now (like the Knicks and Lakers, for example) so I don't see it happening.

Agree that if he hadn't had the problems he did with McHale, he'd be a trade candidate.

Or even to the Raptors. They might just try to re-sign him. Which teams are going to compete with them, realistically? Raptors, Lakers, maybe Magic. I can't think of any other team. Other teams either have solid starting point guards, or have no cap space.

It seems that the tank is off, so there's no point to trade him for anything but a Godfather offer.

How many times has this name been mentioned? In how many threads?

Why do you think this topic needs another thread?

The Raptors in the Leastern conference could actually get home court advantage in the play offs. I don't see why they would be trading away their starting point guard. They are soundly out classed in the tanking department.

It'd only make sense as part of a salary dump. His contract is expiring and he's going to get paid, so if we somehow got him there's no way we'd keep him. He's going to be another overpaid league-average point guard.

    Random trade topic.

Outside of guys that just love to talk trade, maybe it's time to see how the major pieces gel from here until end of the playoffs. Lowry is no big no-brainer improvement over anyone to warrant any move or get his own thread. If Rondo is definitely being shopped and becomes available, that's a different story.

It's an immediate upgrade at a position of weakness and gets us out from under one of either Lin or Asiks bad contracts. Sounds like a Morey move to me.

Dare I say that even though we want Lowry back, why would he want to come back to a team with not only an inept coach that he doesn't respect, but also with a ball dominant 2, and a tendency to give average effort every few games.

This isn't the the most desirable team to be on right now IMO, with the chemistry problems.
