What's amazing about Lowry's assists is that only is he averaging more per game than CP3 and Rondo, but he's also averaging less minutes per game than them as well. Asissts Minutes Assists Per 48 min Lowry 11.5 32.5 17.0 Rondo 10.0 36.2 13.3 Paul 9.8 38.5 12.2 Lowry's tied for steals per game with Paul but has played less minutes and of course is the leading rebounder for a point guard. My favorite stat about Lowry is that there are never been any rumors of his teaming wanting to trade him because of his attitude and lack of chemistry with his teammates, unlike Westbrook and Rondo.
His FG% is down, but he is playing way better than last year even. I just like the guy who sets his teamates up as his primary responsibility. We have finishers all around Lowry, every single guy that he is playing with can hit an open jimmy, so he is driving and dishing, very very nice to watch. DD
He was shooting 48% before the Hawks game. I think the 0-6 Hawks game might be an aberration considering it was his third game in three nights and he exerts more energy than everybody else. His last three pointer barely touched the rim; his legs were clearly tired.
Kyle Lowry may be the All-Star that lures Dwight Howard to H-Town. Imagine Lowry Martin Bud? Scola Superman with DeMarcus Cousins and Dalembert off the bench.......
Another thing to note DD is that his true shooting % is up over last year since he is getting to the line more than last year. Maintaining this level of free throw attempts per game would seem to be within reach for Lowry since it's in line with his per 36 min numbers. Clearly, it's an extremely small sample size, but it will be a trend to watch thru the year.
Lowry is currently leading the league in assists, steals and is first amongst guards in rebounds....bring on the Lakers!
I don't see any guy on the squad that is automatic hitting an "open jimmy" outside of Martin and Scola. The rest are clankity-clanking there open looks
I think he'll make it as a reserve. He's not popular enough to make it as a starter, but coaches in the West will give him the nod if he keeps kicking ass.
Kyle Lowry is indeed unique. The never quit, never give up, never give in attitude reminds of my favorite football player of all-time: the great Darrell Green. Some of the old-timers may remember this cat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9Hy5NJyqYg
.....Even though he stunk it up to start the season Bud is hitting 1/3 of his 3's, -J-Hill & Dalembert are just under 60%, -T-Will has hit half of his 3's, -Chandler Parsons is .500 & shooting .600 from downtown & -Thabeet hasn't missed a shot all season:grin: Once Courtney Lee and PPat shake off the rust, we will have a pretty potent offence, where we struggle is perimeter D. Btw: Lowry's got game.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-mkNeuioAlg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mkNeuioAlg Lowry has always played with hustle and heart going back to his college days. What certainly has improved is his outside shooting and court-vision, something he didn't need as much back then. It should be noted that Lowry was injured the first half of his freshman year, so he really only played a season and a half for Nova. Also, check out Lowry's block at 0:43.
I remembered how recent Villanova guards have been talked about...bit undersized....tough as nails....and physically rugged Lowry, Foye the latest.....
