http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/stats/byposition?pos=PG[/url] Lowry's rank among NBA point guards through tonight: APG: 1st RPG: 1st PPG: 11th (5th in WC) SPG: 4th (4th in WC) Won't be a starter with CP3 around, but if this keeps up, there is no way they pick Westbrook over Kyle.
I dont care if Kyle Lowry is an all star. Stats mean nothing. Kyle Lowry Wins. It's that simple. I want a winner on my team.
I'm not entirely certain that these haven't already been posted, but I've looked around the GARM and not seen them, so here it goes: From Yahoo Sports (writer Chris Duncan) Dec 31st: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/recap;_ylt=AhGgYtcvWUyee7LkKpO1zFm8vLYF?gid=2011123110 From the Dream Shake (on yahoo sports) Dec 31st: http://www.thedreamshake.com/2011/12/31/2673594/game-4-recap-kyle-lowry-is-the-new-year?ref=yahoo
I rarely quote myself, but this was my thought after the Orlando game: "Lowry? Simply amazing. The dude looks like he hasn't missed a beat from last season. If he stays healthy (what's with the knee thingy?), and he plays like this, we're going to have to start calling him a star player." http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=6502680&postcount=154 Unless Lowry's game suddenly craters, or he suffers another problem, which I won't give a name to, the man is a star player. And if he continues on this pace, he has a good shot at being an injury substitute for the All Star game. Should Lowry find the shooting touch he had last season, not only should he be a top injury substitution, but he should be selected as a reserve. Lowry may end up deserving to be voted into the big game, but he's Almost Famous... he ain't famous yet.
I will never understand the people who so strongly wanted to trade Lowry and others for Chris Paul and pay him a gazillion dollars. Don't get the thought process there.
Lowry's value is not just his basketball prowess. It's also his incredible contract at ~6mil/yr!!! In a CBA where it's extremely difficult to build a competitive team if you have bloated contracts... a contract like Lowry allows you to get 2 legit max players like Dwight while having the cap space to build a competent supporting cast around them. 2 max salary superstars = ~33 mil + Lowry's 6 mil/yr at near elite status allows at least 6-8million in "extra" capspace DM can play with. Great players on great contracts are GOLD. Lowry is GOLD.
yeah but if kyle lowry makes the all star team and starts getting the recognition he deserves then that will lead FA's to us like D12... which in turn will lead to alot more W's
Whats absolutely amazing is that Lowry is doing this with "mediocre" options around him. By that I mean, imagine if Lowry was playing with KG, PP and Allen. Though Martin is a great 3pt shooter, the other guys on the team aren't automatic when they get an open look. He'd be at 12apg no doubt. I still think Westbrook is a better player, but Kyle is the better PG.
