We should start a campaign, Yao fans vote for Lowry, Martin & Scola. Imagine if 1 billion Chinese voted for Thabeet!
You're missing the point. He has a better chance making an all-nba team than the all-star game. It's based on vote (for the most part) and there are many more players with bigger names than lowry. I hope he makes it, because he has consistently improved each season with us, and he certainly is a star pg, capable of putting up points, boards, ast, and steals. He hustles, is constantly aggressive (something i held against him initially). However, I must reiterate. The voters are stupid. We all know this, we all laugh about how yao and tmac were voted in every year despite their injuries. It's only 2 games in, I don't think it matters so much on his play as it does on others. I wasn't impressed with Paul the other night, and Westbrook is an idiotic player imo. If they continue to play poorly maybe people will notice enough to vote him in.
Basically I am merely stating he would be worthy the nomination but the actual voting is more of a popularity contest as you say. In addition the coaches have the final say about the reserve... so I guess I am not totally missing it.
Crazy to think but I ran the numbers so many times last season...and lowry looked every bit of an all star once he really got settled in...he plays less minutes then most of the other guys because weve always had a good back up...but if you looked at his per 40 min stat compared to CP3s and Rose its crazy how close he is....plus he plays top notch D and is just a clutch. I would love to see Lowry in the mix with Cp3 and Westbrook for all star team... judging by the start of the season hes going to avg close to a triple double and I think that will do it. Kinda shocked by his play last two games he doesnt just put up the stats but he plays with that all star swagger. Maybe Mr Howard changes his mind if we have a great start to the season and a top PG in Western Conference.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/stats/byposition?pos=PG Lowry's rank among NBA point guards through last night: APG: 2nd (Rondo 1st) RPG: 1st (Rondo 2nd) PPG: 5th (Jennings/Lawson/Rondo/Augustin) SPG: 6th (Curry/Lawson/Wall/Chalmers/Kidd)
He looks like one so far. I was definitely wrong about Lowry; hopefully he'll keep this up for the year.
If Rondo had a 2pt 18ast game various people would be creaming all over themselves. Klow is playing like an all-star, but will he be recognized for it?
Credit where credit is due. K-Low was all Morey, and the bargain contract we got for Lowry was also all Morey. Lowry might just be the first official all-star Morey acquires for this team.
