Now... if Mark Warner only knew of a body of elected members of our government that might actually be able to do something about this. Heck, he could call them the United States Senate...
So he too has lied to Congress when will his indictment be coming oh yeah his daddy will pardon him nevermind.
It's not okay to hire your close family to serve official roles for you in the White House. It is also not okay to lie to Congress about something like the status of your security clearance. But, as for how people are okay with this, I think it's a short walk. You say, sure we got this big process to keep bad guys out of sensitive WH jobs. But Kushner is family and his long-time trusted associate. Trump doesn't need the FBI to figure out whether he can be trusted. Trump knows he can trust Kushner, so what's the problem? I mean, I still see a problem (but it starts with Trump, not Kushner), but if you're well-disposed, it's pretty easy to rationalize away.
I can think of one problem there both crooks just because 45 trust him doesn't mean the rest of America should that's why there is a process that needs to be followed but 45 has *hit on everything that the constitution stands for and is so funny that all the people on the right have remained quite but when President Obama was in office they had much to say.
I guess you can ask... "why have anyone go through security clearance"? And... why have anyone go through ethics review? Why have cabinet and USSC nominees go through congressional review and approvals? The p[resident trusts someone... shouldn't that be enough? There were reasons kushner and ivanka weren't able to pass existing security reviews. There were reasons why kushner had to continually revise his forms. Perhaps the important question... why?
https://oversight.house.gov/news/pr...e-immediately-comply-with-oversight-committee Cummings Demands that White House Immediately Comply with Oversight Committee Request for Documents and Witnesses in Security Clearance Investigation Mar 1, 2019 Press Release Cummings Releases Letters with White House Washington, D.C. (Mar. 1, 2019)—Today, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, the Chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, sent a letter to White House Counsel Pat Cipollone demanding full and immediate compliance with the Committee’s previous request for documents and witness interviews in light of a new reportyesterday that President Donald Trump pushed for his son-in-law and senior advisor, Jared Kushner, to receive a security clearance despite numerous red flags—directly contradicting the President’s public denials just eight days after the Committee launched its investigation. In addition, Cummings released his correspondence with the White House over the past several weeks regarding the documents and witnesses he has requested regarding the Committee’s wide-ranging investigation into the security clearance process at the White House. To date, the White House has refused to provide any of the documents or produce any of the witnesses the Committee has requested for interviews. Cummings wrote in today’s letter: “Since I sent my letter on January 23, I have been negotiating in good faith—and in private—to try to obtain the information the Committee needs to conduct its investigation. However, over the past five weeks, the White House has stalled, equivocated, and failed to produce a single document or witness to the Committee. The White House has refused to commit to providing any information regarding the security clearance of any specific White House official, and the President has asserted no constitutional privilege to withhold this information from Congress.” He added: “Today, I am writing in light of grave new reports that—just eight days after the Committee launched this investigation—President Trump may have falsely claimed that he played no role in the security clearance process.” Cummings concluded: “If true, these new reports raise grave questions about what derogatory information career officials obtained about Mr. Kushner to recommend denying him access to our nation’s most sensitive secrets, why President Trump concealed his role in overruling that recommendation, why General Kelly and Mr. McGahn both felt compelled to document these actions, and why your office is continuing to withhold key documents and witnesses from this Committee. “For these reasons, I am now writing a final time to request your voluntary cooperation with this investigation. I ask that you begin producing all responsive documents immediately, and I request that you begin scheduling transcribed interviews with each witness identified by the Committee. Please provide your response to the Committee by March 4, 2019.” Click here to read today’s letter. Click here to read Cummings’ original letter to the White House on January 23, 2019. Interesting, but if Trump doesn’t comply, what can Cummings do? As long as the GOP continues to protect the president, he can do just about anything he wants to.
Well, Cummings is confronting them, but I'm assuming she means internally from the GOP. Not sure why she's shocked after what we've seen for the past two years when it comes to accountability from the GOP. There is no accountability, only winning. They see any rebuke of their own as giving an edge to the Democrats and that can't happen in their minds without a plan in place. Truth doesn't matter, rules don't matter, policies don't matter, only keeping their majority.
Everything concerning their criminality cannot be done in quiet channels Because when things are not public .. . this admin will lie and say it never happened even when memos and other things come to light . .. their base will beleive them over the proof So . . .you have to do everything very public to lay a time line because unfortunately . .. you need to make sure everyone has everything this admin lies when the truth will do . . . .. . it is inate to their nature Rocket River
