The more Young runs, the sooner he gets hurt. The more Young throws, the sooner his occasional moments of success through the air this season will seem like a distant memory. A great college QB. Not a great NFL QB. Not even good enough.
8-2 this year and 26-13 overall says otherwise. 80% wins this year and .667 over his career and he still has Chris Johnson.....I think VY has arrived. DD
If he was doing Great he wouldn't of got benched. Without him his team was able to obtain the best record in the NFL.
 What will be GREAT is watching Matt Schaub in a couple of years with a better team around him while Vince Young is once again relegated to backup duty due to his inability to make good decisions and accurate throws. Vince Young was a GREAT college QB. That is where it will end when all is said and done.
and only one of those wins was against a +.500 team.... ooooohhhh! impressive! and this is YOUR idea of an above average QB. btw, I know I keep bringing it up......but honestly, it's the perfect counter to your pathetic W/L fluff stat. Mark Sanchez 2009 9-7 Matt Schaub 2009 9-7 two QB's on the opposite ends of the spectrum. same "w/l" stat. you can voice your crappy opinion all you want about Schaub, but it is flat out wrong. try a different argument.
You know DD will just find another weak argument to support the same crappy opinion. I take pride in the fact that I can admit when I'm wrong, especially when presented with superior arguments to my own. Unfortunately, that is a foreign concept to the highest volume poster on ClutchFans. DD is a swell guy and all but he is stubborn to no end.
We all know why the Titans won 8 games... and the dude's a running back that just racked up 2,006 yards.
Really when Chris Johnson started beasting like no other and when their D started to play well.. They allowed 14.75 pts in their 8 victories.
Before this season, Kerry Collins had a better record than VY as a Titan. So unless you're telling me that Kerry Collins is an awesome QB, VY did not "arrive" until this year. On a side note, does that record include the game where Vince went down with an injury with the Titans trailing, and Collins coming in and driving them down to the winning TD?
I think the whole team grew up this year. At least now they realize that you have to win them in September so you don't have to in December. This team should have been cruising the last two games with Titans and Jags in the rear view mirror. Shouldn't have had to watch the scoreboard. But almost is still almost... Ask the Steelers, Broncos... The defense improved, Schaub was nails (with protection, finally), they learned how to win on the road, gradually found a ground game... Win four in the division next year and ten or 11 wins gets you in... maybe a home playoff game. Possibly a push for the division, since they've hung pretty good with the Colts the last two seasons... Better days ahead...
Whether if you believe it was mediocre or not, the Texans improved and were one game away from the playoffs. You can blame Kubiak or K brown but truth is there were many reasons why they didn't get that one game. The fumble by Moats at the one, the 17 point lead they surrendered against Indy, 1-5 in the division, Not being ready to play at all game one against the jets. I could go on and on. I believe alot of teams would have quit but Kubiak stayed true to what he believed in and kept plugging. He has earned one more year. I know it's early but if we found a back to move the pile in Foster we will be much improved. With a player here or there the Texans can be really good next year. A new regime would set us back. Let's be patient one more year.
The only reason I see McNair keeping Kubiak around for another season is because an upgrade is most likely not available. A winning season does not cover up any of the mistakes and bad play calls that went on this season.
A winning season also doesn't cover up the fact that this team needs serious upgrades in the secondary, kicking game, running game, and more of an effective pass rush.
