Why not? We haven't had much to for a while...it's been building up for years...so here comes the tsunami
"Johnson currently ranks fourth in the league with 262 receiving yards on 14 catches. The next most productive receiver on the team is rookie Jacoby Jones with 33 receiving yards on two catches. Kevin Walter has two catches for 17 yards." Time for other guys to step up and fill those big shoes.
wtf man, our baseball team is 20 games below 500, the Rockets are gonna be great but that is six weeks away and ITS BEEN SINCE 1993 SINCE WE HAVE HAD A WINNER IN FOOTBALL IN THIS TOWN. THIS IS A FOOTBALL TOWN, WE NEED THIS TEAM TO WIN AND GET HOUSTON BACK INTO THE PLAYOFFS. Do you remember the 7 straight years in the playoffs? I do, it was badass knowing we would be in the mix every year.
hopefully, he plays. but keep in mind: andre johnson is not the key to beating the colts; green, dayne and the OL are far more valuable. if he has to miss a week... this ain't a bad one.
That is true, we really need to get the running game going because that has been their weak spot for a while. I know it has gotten a little better but not by much. We need to establish that early because their secondary is above average.
Time for Jacoby to make a splash. AJ is awesome and all...but Shaub placing the ball in his hands helps a lot. Shaub is already making AJ a better receiver. He will do the same for Jones. Jones is explosive and has good hands. If Shaub gets him the ball, look out. With Jones attittude and confidence, it could be a long day for a Indy defense that is not as good as it's been in the past.
What needs to be seen is how well he'll run routes in an NFL game. It ain't the preseason. I hope he shines. As long as he both runs the routes well and stays within himself.
it is still too early in the season to get carried away with excitement. we should know about mid-way in the season if the texans are going to compete for the playoffs. if they don't that's okay, they will be a lock next year. remember, the texans lack depth. it only takes 1 or 2 injuries to key players to put the team back behind the 8 ball.
Don't tell people when they can and cannot get excited. Texankan is right--it's been since 1993 that we in Houston had *anything* to cheer about. I found myself whooping and hollering at the screen Sunday, too. You are correct that it's too early to be predicting playoff berths for the Texans. IMO, this year *or* next. But, I'm enjoying the ride right now, because it's been since 1993 since I've had a "ride". Agreed.
Yeah...but ain't it better than 0-2 with Carr?? There hasn't been this much NFL excitement in Houston since 19-10...and that was awesome. But short-lived. This team is different....this feels like they can actually make some noise this season. It's been almost 15 years since Houston has had anything close to a good NFL team. 2-0 is a nice start!
And unless they lose 59-0 Sunday, I'll still be excited. 3-0 (holy CRAP!) or 2-1 are both records I would have been dancing for each of the last five years.
I agree on the whole using Daniels more... Define more conservative though... Maybe a lil more conservative game plan. But I don't think they are forced to not take shots down the field. Obviously not having Andre out there hurts in a big way, but they with the west coast offense you can still go to the air a lot with these other guys. They can cycle these guys and give the Colts different looks, keep them off guard. I'm not entirely sold on this Colts defense. They played the Saints, who have shown they weren't ready to start the season this year. And they played the Titans, who are going to be a low scoring team this season as it is.
Beating the Colts would have been hard enough. On the brightside, we can see if any other receivers can step up.
uhm.... indy's defense last year was fairly atrocious in the regualr season, finishing dead last against the run. dayne stuck a 153 on them. since getting sanders back for the playoffs, they've been drastically better; they shut down a high-flying offense from last year and did a pretty decent job bottling up a titan team that hung, like, 2,000 rushing yards on jacksonville the week before. with manning, et al, the defense doesn't have to be dominant.
yes....no fun. none of you get excited. this is all very serious. we will let you know when it's ok to get excited. and even then, it will only be in moderation. sincerely, Taliban Texan
running game has to be on point. thats how we beat them last time. hopefully that opens up the passing lanes for jacoby to run wild.
